'Wives' in the Bible
He says to them, Moses, in view of your hardheartedness, allowed you to put away your wives; but from the beginning it was not thus.
But when we had completed the days, we set out and took our journey, all of them accompanying us, with wives and children, till we were out of the city. And kneeling down upon the shore we prayed.
But this I say, brethren, the time is straitened. For the rest, that they who have wives, be as not having any:
Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord,
But even as the assembly is subjected to the Christ, so also wives to their own husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your own wives, even as the Christ also loved the assembly, and has delivered himself up for it,
So ought men also to love their own wives as their own bodies: he that loves his own wife loves himself.
Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
But profane and old wives' fables avoid, but exercise thyself unto piety;
Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, that, even if any are disobedient to the word, they may be gained without the word by the conversation of the wives,
