And he that keeps his commandments abides in him, and he in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given us.

What has a temple of God in common with one of idols? For you are the temple of the living God, as God has said: I will dwell in them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

and do not participate in the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them;

And this is the message that we heard from him, and do declare to you: that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.
