looking for the blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
because you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver or gold, from your vain mode of life received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without spot and blemish,
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes on him should not perish, but have eternal life.
and I give them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall take them out of my hand.
for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God, yet may be justified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus;
For if, by one man's offense, death has reigned through that one, much more shall those who receive the abundance of the grace, and of the gift of righteousness, reign in life through the one, who is Jesus Christ.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal "life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
grace be to you, and peace be multiplied in the acknowledgment of God, and Jesus our Lord. As his divine power has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the acknowledgment of him who has called us by his glorious power,
So, then, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God, who, of his good pleasure, works in you both the will and the power to perform.

For as the sufferings for the Christ abound in us, so also through Christ abounds our consolation.

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, who has loved us, and given us eternal consolation and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts, and strengthen you in every good word and work.
But, as it is written: Eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and into the heart of man have not entered the things which God has prepared for them that love him.
that, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the glorious riches of his inheritance in the saints,
