But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled that thus it must be? In that same hour Jesus said to the multitude, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me. But all this was done that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him and fled.

The Son of man goes as it is written of him, but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! It had been good for that man if he had not been born.

And he began to say unto them, Today this scripture is fulfilled in your ears.

For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken; ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter (like this) into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded this unto them in all the scriptures concerning himself.

I speak not of you all; I know whom I have chosen; but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me,

Even the man of my peace, in whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

But now, without the law, the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets:

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and made redemption for his people And has raised up a horn of saving health for us in the house of his servant David, as he spoke by the mouth of the saints who from the beginning were his prophets;

But God has thus fulfilled those things which he had showed in advance by the mouth of all his prophets, that his Christ should suffer.

Unto him all the prophets give witness, that whosoever believes in him shall receive remission of sins through his name.

Having, therefore, obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said should come:

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received: how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures and that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures and that he appeared to Cephas and then to the twelve;

Of which saving health the prophets, (who prophesied of the grace that was to come in you) have enquired and searched diligently; searching when and in what point of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, which announced beforehand the afflictions that were to come upon the Christ, and the glory that should follow them. Unto whom it was revealed that not unto themselves, but unto us they did administer the things, which are now announced unto you by those that have preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven, which things the angels desire to look into.

Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall conceive and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is God With Us.

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call his name Immanuel.

And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea, for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda, for out of thee shall come a Leader that shall shepherd my people Israel.

knowing that ye have been ransomed from your vain conversation (which you received from your fathers), not with corruptible things like silver and gold, but with the precious blood of the Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without contamination,

And he that saw it gives testimony, and his testimony is true, and he knows that he says the truth, that ye also might believe.

And ye are witnesses of these things.

And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth.

and ye also shall bear witness because ye have been with me from the beginning.

This is the disciple who testifies of these things and wrote these things, and we know that his testimony is true.

But ye shall receive the virtue of the Holy Spirit which shall come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judaea and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

This Jesus God has raised up, of whom we all are witnesses.

For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

And we are his witnesses of these things, and so is also the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those that persuade him.

and he was seen many days by those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who until now are his witnesses unto the people.

The elders who are among you I exhort (I am also an elder with them and a witness of the afflictions of the Christ, and also a participant of the glory that shall be revealed).

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life (for the life is manifested, and we also saw it and bear witness and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father and appeared unto us);

And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

And Jesus, after he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water; and, behold, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon him; and, behold, a voice from the heavens, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

And it came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth a city of Galilee and was baptized of John in the Jordan. And as soon as he was come out of the water, John saw the heavens opened and the Spirit like a dove descending and resting upon him; and there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my dear Son, in whom I delight.

Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass that, Jesus also being baptized and praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee is my delight.

And John gave testimony, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not; but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and abiding on him, the same is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit. And I have seen and have given testimony that this is the Son of God.

While he yet spoke, behold, a cloud of light overshadowed them, and, behold, a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour comes in which the Son of man shall be clarified. and if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is vain, and your faith is also vain. And we are even found false witnesses of God because we have testified of God that he raised up the Christ, whom he did not raise up, if it so be that the dead do not rise.

who by him do believe God, who raised him up from the dead and has given him glory: that your faith and hope might be in God.

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel, for there is not another; but there are some that trouble you and would pervert the gospel of the Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, were to preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be anathema.read more.
As we said before, so do I say now again, If anyone preaches any other gospel unto you than what ye have received, let him be anathema.

For no one can lay another foundation than that laid, which is Jesus the Christ.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God because many false prophets are gone out into the world. In this know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ, is come in flesh is of God: And every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ, is come in flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, of which ye have heard that it should come, and that now it is already in the world.
