A soft answer turns away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, modest, benevolent, full of mercy and of good fruits, not judgmental, unfeigned.

By long forbearing a prince is persuaded, and a soft tongue breaks the bones.

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation with which ye are called, with all humility and meekness, with tolerance, forbearing one another in love,

But thou, O man of God, flee these things and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, charity, tolerance, meekness.

Brethren, if anyone is overtaken in a fault, ye who are spiritual restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself lest thou also be tempted.

But we were gentle among you, as a mother feeding and caring for her children,

Admonish them to be subject to dominion and power, and to persuade those who have authority, that they be quick unto every good work. That they speak evil of no one, that they not be contentious, but gentle, showing all meekness unto all men.

and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another even as God has forgiven you in Christ.
