Wives, be subject to your own husbands as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter against them.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife; and they shall be one flesh.
When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business; but he shall be free at home one year and shall cheer up his wife whom he has taken.
Thy fountain shall be blessed; and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love, without eyes for anyone else. And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a woman belonging to someone else, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husband, as unto the Lord.
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them wisely, giving honour unto the woman, as unto a more fragile vessel and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers not be hindered.
For thy Maker shall be thine husband; the LORD of the hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
Husbands, love your wives even as the Christ also loved the congregation and gave himself for her, that he might sanctify and cleanse her in the washing of water by the word, that he might present her glorious for himself, a congregation , not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee; and as the bridegroom rejoices with the bride, so shall thy God rejoice with thee.
Turn, O rebellious sons, said the LORD; for I am your Lord, and I will take you one of a city and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
And I passed by thee and looked upon thee; behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my mantle over thee and covered thy shame; and I gave thee an oath and entered into a covenant with thee, said the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine;
And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness and in judgment and in mercy.
For I am jealous over you with the jealousy of God, for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to the Christ.
Let us be glad and rejoice and give glory to him; for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his bride has made herself ready.

Flee fornication. Any other sin that a man does is outside the body, but he that commits fornication sins against his own body.
Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed and fell dead: in one day, twenty-three thousand.
But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not be once named among you as becomes saints,
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil lust, and covetousness, which is idolatry;
For the will of God is your sanctification, that ye should separate yourselves from fornication,
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
And the man that commits adultery with another man's wife, he that commits adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely die.

And he said unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife and marry another commits adultery against her. And if the woman shall put away her husband and be married to another, she commits adultery.
Whosoever puts away his wife and marries another commits adultery, and whosoever marries her that is put away of her husband commits adultery.
And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife separate from her husband; and if she separates, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband, and let not the husband put away his wife.
but I say unto you, That whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
But if they do not have the gift of continence, let them marry, for it is better to marry than to burn.
who, after losing all sense of feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness to work all uncleanness with greediness.
It is expedient, therefore, that the bishop be blameless, the husband of only one wife, vigilant, temperate, of worldly affections mortified, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
Neither shall he multiply wives unto himself, that his heart turn not away; neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver or gold.
And did he not make one, having in himself abundance of the Spirit? And why one? That he might seek offspring of God. Therefore take heed to your spirit and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
Let the deacons be the husbands of only one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
He who is blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children who can not be accused of dissoluteness, nor insubordinate.
