And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What is this? A new teaching! With authority He commandeth even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him!"

And He spake also a parable to them: "No one, rending a piece from a new garment, puts it on an old garment; else both the new will cause a rent, and the piece from the new will not agree with the old.

"And no one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch tears away from the garment, and a worse rent is made."

No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; else the patch takes from it, the new from the old, and a worse rent is made.

"And no one puts new wine into old wine-skins; else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be poured out, and the skins will perish. But new wine must be put into fresh skins.

"Neither do they put new wine into old wine-skins; otherwise, indeed, the skins burst, and the wine runs out, and the skins are destroyed; but they put new wine into fresh wine-skins, and both are preserved together."

And, for this cause, He is the Mediator of a new covenant, that, death having taken place for redemption from the transgressions against the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

In like manner also the cup, after supper, saying "This cup is the New Covenant in My blood; this do, as often as ye drink it, in remembrance of Me:"

Who also qualified us as ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit makes alive.

Now as a main point to the things being spoken, we have such a High Priest, Who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in Heaven, a Minister of the holy things, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man. For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices; wherefore, it is necessary that This One also have something which He may offer.read more.
If, therefore, He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are those offering the gifts according to the law, who, indeed, serve in the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses has been divinely warned, when about to make the tabernacle; for "See," saith He, "that you make all things according to the pattern which was showed you in the mount"; but now he hath obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much also as He is Mediator of a better covenant, which, indeed, has been enacted on better promises. For, if that first covenant had been faultless, place would not be sought for a second; for, finding fault with them, He saith, "Behold, the days are coming, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and the house of Judah; not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in My covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. Because this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: Putting My laws into their mind, I will also write them upon their hearts, and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people; and they shall in no wise teach each one his fellow-citizen, and each one his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord'; because all shall know Me, from a small one to a great one of them; because I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and I will remember their sins no more." In that He saith, "A new covenant," He hath made the first old: but the thing that is becoming old, and is wearing out with age, is near vanishing away.

which He dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is, His flesh;

and to Jesus, the Mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, speaking better things than Abel.

He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies. To him that overcomes, to him will I give of the Hidden Manna; and I will give him a white stone, and upon the stone a new name written, which no one knows, but he that receives it.

Nicodemus says to Him, "How can a man he born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and he born?" Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say to you, unless one be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which has been born of the flesh is flesh: and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said to you, ye must be born anew. The Spirit breatheth where He willeth; and you hear His voice, but know not whence He cometh, or whither He goeth: so is every one who has been born of the Spirit." Nicodemus answered, and said to Him, "How can these things be?" Jesus answered, and said to him, "Are you a teacher of Israel, and understand not these things? Verily, verily, I say to you, We speak that which We know, and testify to that which We have seen; and ye receive not Our testimony. If I told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how will ye believe, if I tell you Heavenly things? And no one has ascended into Heaven, but He Who descended out of Heaven??he Son of Man [Who is in Heaven]. And, as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; that every one who believes in Him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that every one who believes on Him should not perish, but have eternal life;

"Go, and, standing, speak in the temple, to the people, all the words of this life."

We were buried, therefore, with Him through the immersion into death; that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

and having put on the new man who is being renewed unto full knowledge, according to the image of Him Who created him;

Wherefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, they have become new.

For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.

and that ye be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man, who after God was created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

A new commandment I give to you, that ye love one another; even as I loved you, that ye love one another. By this shall all know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another."

Beloved, I write no new commandment to you, but and old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye heard. Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you; because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining.

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea is no more. And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

But, according to His promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness,

He that overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God; and he shall in nowise go out any more: and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of Heaven from My God, and My own New Name.

And He Who sits upon the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He saith to me, "Write; because these words are faithful and true."
