For the flesh covets against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh; for these are contrary one to the other, that ye may not do the things which ye wish.
among whom we also all once lived in the desires of our flesh, doing the will of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest;
For, uttering great swelling words of vanity, they entice, in desires of the flesh, by their lasciviousness, those just escaping from those who live in error;
Now we, the strong, ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
And we know that all things are working together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose;
But him that is weak in the faith receive ye, yet not for decisions of scruples. One believes that he may eat all things; but he that is weak eats herbs.
For in many things we all stumble. If anyone stumbles not in word, the same is a perfect man, able to restrain also the whole body.
And he who received the one talent, coming near said, 'Lord, I knew you, that you are a hard man; reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter; and, being afraid, going away, I hid your talent in the earth: behold, you have your own.'
"Judge not, that ye be not judged; for with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you. "And why do you behold the mote that is in your brother's eye, but consider not the beam in your own eye?read more.
Or how will you say to your brother, 'Permit me to cast out the mote out of your eye;' and, behold, the beam is in your own eye? Hypocrite! Cast out first the beam out of your own eye; and then you will see clearly to cast out the mote out of your brother's eye.
Speak not one against another, brethren. He that speaks against a brother, or judges his brother, speaks against the law, and judges the law; but, if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge. One is Law-giver and Judge??e Who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you, that judge your neighbor?
Murmur not against one another, brethren, that ye be not judged: behold, The Judge has taken His stand before the doors!
And, when Peter went up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision were contending with him, saying, that he went in to men holding uncircumcision, and ate with them!
Now I, Paul, myself entreat you, through the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in your presence, indeed, am lowly among you; but, being absent, am bold toward you;
"Happy are ye, when they shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake.
"Happy are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from themselves, and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man.
And the scribes and Pharisees were watching Him, whether He would heal on the sabbath: that they might find how to accuse Him.
And, behold, a man having a withered hand; and they questioned Him, saying, "Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath?" that they might accuse Him.
And He saith to them, "Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good, or to do harm, to save a life, or to kill?" But they were silent.
And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is This that is speaking blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God only?"
And the Pharisees, seeing it, said to His disciples, Why is your Teacher eating with the tax-collectors and sinners?"
And the scribes of the Pharisees, seeing that He was eating with the sinners and tax-collectors, said to His disciples, "Why doth He eat with the tax-collectors and sinners?"
And the Pharisees and their scribes were murmuring against the disciples, saying, "Why are ye eating and drinking with the tax-collectors and sinners?"
"Why do Thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they do not wash their hands, when they eat bread!"
And the Pharisees and the scribes ask Him, "Why do not Thy disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat with defiled hands?"
And the high priests and the whole Sanhedrin were seeking false witness against Jesus, that they might put Him to death; and they did not find any, though many false witnesses came forward. But afterward two false witnesses, coming forward, said, "This Man, said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.'"
And the high priests and all the Sanhedrin were seeking for testimony against Jesus, in order to put Him to death; and they were not finding it. For many were bearing false testimony against Him, and their testimonies were not agreed. And certain ones, standing up, were bearing false testimony against Him, saying,read more.
"We heard Him say, 'I will destroy this temple made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.'" And not even so did their testimony agree.
Some of the Pharisees, therefore, said, "This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the sabbath." Others said, "How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?" And there was a division among them.
Arising, I will go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I sinned against Heaven, and before you;
for, finding fault with them, He saith, "Behold, the days are coming, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and the house of Judah; not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in My covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
the secrets of his heart are made manifest; and so, falling on his face, he will worship God, reporting that, in reality, God is among you.
"And, if your brother sin against you, go show him his fault between you and him alone. If he hear you, you gained your brother; but, if he hear you not, take with you yet one or two, that at the mouth of two witnesses or three, every word may be established. And, if he disregard them, tell it to the assembly; and, if he disregard the assembly also, let him be to you as the gentile and the tax-collector.
Brethren, even if a man be caught in any trespass, ye who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of meekness; considering yourself, lest you also be tempted.
Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him; and, if he repents, forgive him.
My brethren, if anyone among you be led astray from the truth, and one convert him; let him know that he who converted a sinner from the error of his way, will save a soul from death, and cover a multitude of sins.
For Herod, having laid hold of John, bound him, and put him in prison, because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife.
For John said to Herod, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife."
But Peter said, "Ananias, why did Satan fill your heart, that you should lie to the Holy Spirit, and keep back part of the price of the land?
But, when Cephas came to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was blameworthy; for, before certain ones came from James, he was eating with the gentiles; but, when they came, he was withdrawing and separating himself, fearing those of the circumcision.
Even so reckon ye also yourselves dead, indeed, to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Let not sin, therefore, reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey its desires;
For, what was impossible under law, wherein it was weak through the flesh. God, sending His Own Son in likeness of sinful flesh, and, respecting sin, condemned sin in the flesh; that the requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
Wherefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, they have become new.
And He hath said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you; for My power is made perfect in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Wherefore, I take pleasure in weaknesses, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then am I powerful.
I am strong enough for all things in Him Who strengtheneth me.
and become kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God also in Christ forgave you.
and you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, did He make alive with Him: having freely forgiven us all our trespasses;
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
for we have not a High Priest, unable to sympathize with our infirmities, but One Who hath been tempted in all points like as we, apart from sin.
And ye know that He was manifested, that He might take away sins; and in Him is no sin.
having your conduct seemly among the gentiles; that, wherein they speak against you as evil-doers, they may, from your good works which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Do all things without murmurings and disputings; that ye may become blameless and harmless, children of God, irreproachable in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom ye appear as luminaries in the world,
It is needful, therefore, that the bishop be irreproachable, a husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, orderly, hospitable, apt to teach,
if anyone is blameless, a husband of one wife, having believing children not in accusation of rioting, or unruly.
Wherefore, beloved, since ye are looking for these things, give diligence that ye be found in peace, without spot and blameless in His sight.
that He might present to Himself the assembly, glorious, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it may be holy and without blemish.
yet now did He reconcile in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and without blemish, and irreproachable, before Him;
to the end that He may establish your hearts unblamable in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.
And the God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
