Who among you is wise and intelligent? Let him show by his noble living that his good deeds are done in humility, which wisdom prompts. But if you cherish bitter jealousy and rivalry in your hearts, stop being proud of it and stop being false to the standard of truth. This is not the kind of wisdom that comes down from above; no, it is earthly, human, demoniacal.

Stop looking after your own interests only but practice looking out for the interests of others too.

Stop acting from motives of selfish strife or petty ambition, but in humility practice treating one another as your superiors.

while our well-shaped parts do not want for anything. Yes, God has perfectly adjusted the body, giving great honor to its apparently inferior parts, so that there is no disharmony in the body, but all the parts have a common care for one another.

Then what is our conclusion, brothers? When you meet together, everybody has a song, something to teach, a revelation, an ecstatic utterance, or an explanation of one. It must all be for the upbuilding of all. If anybody speaks in ecstasy, there must be only two, or three at most, and let one speak at a time, and someone explain what he says. But if there is no one to explain it, let him keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God alone.read more.

For the heathen are greedily pursuing all such things; and surely your heavenly Father well knows that you need them all. Therefore, as a means of spiritual preparation, tighten up the belt about your minds, keep perfectly calm, keep your hope on the spiritual blessing to be conferred upon you at the unveiling of Jesus Christ.
