You love any words that destroy, you treacherous tongue! This is why God will bring you down forever. He will take you, ripping you out of your tent; He will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah The righteous will look on with awe and will ridicule him: "Here is the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, taking refuge in his destructive behavior."

Then Jesus said to His disciples, "I assure you: It will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven! Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God." What use is a carved idol after its craftsman carves it? It is [only] a cast image, a teacher of lies. For the one who crafts its shape trusts in it and makes idols that cannot speak. Woe to him who says to wood: Wake up! or to mute stone: Come alive! Can it teach? Look! It may be plated with gold and silver, yet there is no breath in it at all.

They have hands, but cannot feel, feet, but cannot walk. They cannot make a sound with their throats. Those who make them are just like them, as are all who trust in them.

They will be turned back and utterly ashamed—
those who trust in idols
and say to metal-plated images:
You are our gods!

Taste and see that the Lord is good.

who has put his trust in the Lord
and has not turned to the proud
or to those who run after lies!

The man who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence indeed is the Lord, is blessed.

How can you say to me,

Woe to the rebellious children!
This is the Lord’s declaration.

they make an alliance,
but against My will,

Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God, who richly provides us with all things to enjoy.

Place no trust in oppression,
or false hope in robbery.
If wealth increases,
pay no attention to it.

Indeed, God is my salvation;
I will trust Him and not be afraid,
for Yah, the Lord,
is my strength and my song.
He has become my salvation.”

Therefore, we may boldly say:

The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?

in God I trust; I will not fear.
What can man do to me?

Those who made Cush their hope and Egypt their boast will be dismayed and ashamed.

But Pharaoh’s protection will become your shame,
and refuge in Egypt’s shadow your disgrace.

Guard me and deliver me;
do not let me be put to shame,
for I take refuge in You.

But my eyes look to You, Lord God.

Trust in Him at all times, you people;

that people take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.

The righteous one rejoices in the Lord
and takes refuge in Him;
all those who are upright in heart
will offer praise.

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know Your name trust in You because You have not abandoned those who seek You, Lord.

He will never be shaken. The righteous will be remembered forever. He will not fear bad news; his heart is confident, trusting in the Lord.

David said to the Philistine: “You come against me with a dagger, spear, and sword, but I come against you in the name of Yahweh of Hosts, the God of Israel’s armies—you have defied Him.

Then Saul had his own military clothes put on David. He put a bronze helmet on David's head and had him put on armor. David strapped his sword on over the military clothes and tried to walk, but he was not used to them. "I can't walk in these," David said to Saul, "I'm not used to them." So David took them off.

He has delivered us from such a terrible death, and He will deliver us. We have put our hope in Him that He will deliver us again

Those who know Your name trust in You
because You have not abandoned
those who seek You, Yahweh.

because we have made falsehood our refuge
and have hidden behind treachery.”

This is your lot,
what I have decreed for you—
this is the Lord’s declaration—
because you have forgotten Me
and trusted in Falsehood.

and take refuge in Egypt’s shadow.

However, this king revolted against him by sending his ambassadors to Egypt so they might give him horses and a large army. Will he flourish? Will the one who does such things escape? Can he break a covenant and still escape?

Moreover, you will be led out from here
with your hands on your head
since the Lord has rejected those you trust;
you will not succeed even with their help.

Egypt’s help is completely worthless;
therefore, I call her:
Rahab Who Just Sits.

She has not obeyed;
she has not accepted discipline.
She has not trusted in Yahweh;
she has not drawn near to her God.

because they did not believe God
or rely on His salvation.

It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in nobles.

Gaal son of Ebed came with his brothers and crossed into Shechem, and the lords of Shechem trusted him.

He will not fear bad news;
his heart is confident, trusting in the Lord.

my God, my mountain where I seek refuge.

and my Savior, You save me from violence.

Trust in the Lord and do what is good;

Look, you are now trusting in Egypt, that splintered reed of a staff that will enter and pierce the hand of anyone who leans on it. This is how Pharaoh king of Egypt is to all who trust in him.

We have this kind of confidence toward God through Christ.

Therefore the Holy One of Israel says: "Because you have rejected this message and have trusted in oppression and deceit, and have depended on them, this iniquity of yours will be like a spreading breach, a bulge in a high wall whose collapse will come very suddenly. Its collapse will be like the shattering of a potter's jar, crushed to pieces, so that not even a fragment of pottery will be found among its shattered remains- no fragment large enough to take fire from a hearth or scoop water from a cistern." read more.
For the Lord God , the Holy One of Israel, has said: "You will be delivered by returning and resting; your strength will lie in quiet confidence. But you are not willing." You say, "No! We will escape on horses"- therefore you will escape!- and, "We will ride on fast horses"- but those who pursue you will be faster. One thousand [will flee] at the threat of one, at the threat of five you will flee, until you alone remain like a [solitary] pole on a mountaintop or a banner on a hill.

Therefore, the Lord heard and became furious; then fire broke out against Jacob, and anger flared up against Israel because they did not believe God or rely on His salvation. He gave a command to the clouds above and opened the doors of heaven. read more.
He rained manna for them to eat; He gave them grain from heaven. People ate the bread of angels. He sent them an abundant supply of food. But disaster will happen to you; you will not know how to avert it. And it will fall on you, but you will be unable to ward it off. Devastation will happen to you suddenly and unexpectedly.

and that is why I suffer these things. But I am not ashamed, because I know the One I have believed in and am persuaded that He is able to guard what has been entrusted to me until that day.
