Pentecost And The Coming Of The Holy Spirit

11 When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.

11 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

11 When the day of Pentecost had arrived, they were all together in one place.

11 When the day of Pentecost was being celebrated, all of them were together in one place.

11 And when the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all assembled together in one place,

22 And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

22 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

22 Suddenly a sound like that of a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were staying.

22 Suddenly, a sound like the roar of a mighty windstorm came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.

22 When suddenly there came a sound from heaven like the rushing of a violent tempest blast, and it filled the whole house in which they were sitting.

33 And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them.

33 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

33 And tongues, like flames of fire that were divided, appeared to them and rested on each one of them.

33 They saw tongues like flames of fire that separated, and one rested on each of them.

33 And there appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were separated and distributed and which settled on each one of them.

44 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.

44 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

44 Then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit gave them ability for speech.

44 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in foreign languages as the Spirit gave them that ability.

44 And they were all filled (diffused throughout their souls) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other (different, foreign) languages (tongues), as the Spirit kept giving them clear and loud expression [in each tongue in appropriate words].

55 Now there were Jews living in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven.

55 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

55 There were Jews living in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven.

55 Now devout Jews from every nation on earth were living in Jerusalem.

55 Now there were then residing in Jerusalem Jews, devout and God-fearing men from every country under heaven.

66 And when this sound occurred, the crowd came together, and were bewildered because each one of them was hearing them speak in his own language.

66 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

66 When this sound occurred, the multitude came together and was confused because each one heard them speaking in his own language.

66 When that sound came, a crowd quickly gathered, startled because each one heard the disciples speaking in his own language.

66 And when this sound was heard, the multitude came together and they were astonished and bewildered, because each one heard them [the apostles] speaking in his own [particular] dialect.

77 They were amazed and astonished, saying, "Why, are not all these who are speaking Galileans?

77 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

77 And they were astounded and amazed, saying, "Look, aren't all these who are speaking Galileans?

77 Stunned and amazed, they asked, "All of these people who are speaking are Galileans, aren't they?

77 And they were beside themselves with amazement, saying, Are not all these who are talking Galileans?

88 "And how is it that we each hear them in our own language to which we were born?

88 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

88 How is it that we hear, each of us, in our own native language?

88 So how is it that each one of us hears them speaking in his own native language:

88 Then how is it that we hear, each of us, in our own (particular) dialect to which we were born?

99 "Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

99 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

99 Parthians, Medes, Elamites; those who live in Mesopotamia, in Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

99 Parthians, Medes, Elamites, residents of Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia,

99 Parthians and Medes and Elamites and inhabitants of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and [the province of] Asia,

1010 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the districts of Libya around Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,

1010 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

1010 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,

1010 Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the district of Libya near Cyrene, Jewish and proselyte visitors from Rome,

1010 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and the transient residents from Rome, both Jews and the proselytes [to Judaism from other religions],

1111 Cretans and Arabs--we hear them in our own tongues speaking of the mighty deeds of God."

1111 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

1111 Cretans and Arabs-we hear them speaking in our own languages the magnificent acts of God."

1111 Cretans, and Arabs, listening to them talk in our own languages about the great deeds of God?"

1111 Cretans and Arabians too -- "we all hear them speaking in our own native tongues [and telling of] the mighty works of God!

1212 And they all continued in amazement and great perplexity, saying to one another, "What does this mean?"

1212 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

1212 And they were all astounded and perplexed, saying to one another, "What could this be?"

1212 All of them continued to be stunned and puzzled, and they kept asking one another, "What can this mean?"

1212 And all were beside themselves with amazement and were puzzled and bewildered, saying one to another, What can this mean?

1313 But others were mocking and saying, "They are full of sweet wine."

1313 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

1313 But some sneered and said, "They're full of new wine!"

1313 But others kept saying in derision, "They're drunk on sweet wine!"

1313 But others made a joke of it and derisively said, They are simply drunk and full of sweet [intoxicating] wine.

Peter's Sermon On The Day Of Pentecost

1414 But Peter, taking his stand with the eleven, raised his voice and declared to them: "Men of Judea and all you who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you and give heed to my words.

1414 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

1414 But Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice, and proclaimed to them: "Jewish men and all you residents of Jerusalem, let this be known to you and pay attention to my words.

1414 Then Peter stood up among the eleven apostles and raised his voice to address them:

1414 But Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and addressed them: You Jews and all you residents of Jerusalem, let this be [explained] to you so that you will know and understand; listen closely to what I have to say.

1515 "For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is only the third hour of the day;

1515 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

1515 For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it's only nine in the morning.

1515 "Men of Judea and everyone living in Jerusalem! You must understand something, so pay close attention to my words. These men are not drunk as you suppose, for it's only nine o'clock in the morning.

1515 For these men are not drunk, as you imagine, for it is [only] the third hour (about 9:00 a.m.) of the day;

1616 but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel:

1616 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

1616 On the contrary, this is what was spoken through the prophet Joel:

1616 Rather, this is what was spoken through the prophet Joel:

1616 But [instead] this is [the beginning of] what was spoken through the prophet Joel:

1717 'AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,' God says, 'THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS;

1717 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

1717 And it will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out My Spirit on all humanity; then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.

1717 "In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on everyone. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.

1717 And it shall come to pass in the last days, God declares, that I will pour out of My Spirit upon all mankind, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy [ telling forth the divine counsels] and your young men shall see visions ( divinely granted appearances), and your old men shall dream [ divinely suggested] dreams.

1818 EVEN ON MY BONDSLAVES, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN, I WILL IN THOSE DAYS POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT And they shall prophesy.

1818 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

1818 I will even pour out My Spirit on My male and female slaves in those days, and they will prophesy.

1818 In those days I will even pour out my Spirit on my slaves, men and women alike, and they will prophesy.

1818 Yes, and on My menservants also and on My maidservants in those days I will pour out of My Spirit, and they shall prophesy [ telling forth the divine counsels and predicting future events pertaining especially to God's kingdom].

1919 'AND I WILL GRANT WONDERS IN THE SKY ABOVE AND SIGNS ON THE EARTH BELOW, BLOOD, AND FIRE, AND VAPOR OF SMOKE.

1919 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

1919 I will display wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below: blood and fire and a cloud of smoke.

1919 I will display wonders in the sky above and signs on the earth below: blood, fire, and clouds of smoke.

1919 And I will show wonders in the sky above and signs on the earth beneath, blood and fire and smoking vapor;

2020 'THE SUN WILL BE TURNED INTO DARKNESS AND THE MOON INTO BLOOD, BEFORE THE GREAT AND GLORIOUS DAY OF THE LORD SHALL COME.

2020 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

2020 The sun will be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and remarkable day of the Lord comes;

2020 The sun will become dark, and the moon turn to blood, before the coming of the great and glorious Day of the Lord.

2020 The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the obvious day of the Lord comes -- "that great and notable and conspicuous and renowned [day].

2121 'AND IT SHALL BE THAT EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.'

2121 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

2121 then whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

2121 Then whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'

2121 And it shall be that whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord [ invoking, adoring, and worshiping the Lord -- "Christ] shall be saved.

2222 "Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know--

2222 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

2222 "Men of Israel, listen to these words: This Jesus the Nazarene was a man pointed out to you by God with miracles, wonders, and signs that God did among you through Him, just as you yourselves know.

2222 "Fellow Israelis, listen to these words: Jesus from Nazareth was a man authenticated to you by God through miracles, wonders, and signs that God performed through him among you, as you yourselves know.

2222 You men of Israel, listen to what I have to say: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man accredited and pointed out and shown forth and commended and attested to you by God by the mighty works and [the power of performing] wonders and signs which God worked through Him [right] in your midst, as you yourselves know -- "

2323 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death.

2323 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

2323 Though He was delivered up according to God's determined plan and foreknowledge, you used lawless people to nail Him to a cross and kill Him.

2323 After he was arrested according to the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified this very man and killed him using the hands of lawless men.

2323 This Jesus, when delivered up according to the definite and fixed purpose and settled plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and put out of the way [killing Him] by the hands of lawless and wicked men.

2424 "But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.

2424 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

2424 God raised Him up, ending the pains of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it.

2424 But God raised him up and put an end to suffering of death, since it was impossible for him to be held by it,

2424 [But] God raised Him up, liberating Him from the pangs of death, seeing that it was not possible for Him to continue to be controlled or retained by it.

2525 "For David says of Him, 'I SAW THE LORD ALWAYS IN MY PRESENCE; FOR HE IS AT MY RIGHT HAND, SO THAT I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN.

2525 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

2525 For David says of Him: I saw the Lord ever before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

2525 since David says about him, "I always keep my eyes on the Lord, for he is at my right hand so that I cannot be shaken.

2525 For David says in regard to Him, I saw the Lord constantly before me, for He is at my right hand that I may not be shaken or overthrown or cast down [from my secure and happy state].

2626 'THEREFORE MY HEART WAS GLAD AND MY TONGUE EXULTED; MOREOVER MY FLESH ALSO WILL LIVE IN HOPE;

2626 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

2626 Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced. Moreover my flesh will rest in hope,

2626 That is why my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices, yes, even my body still rests securely in hope.

2626 Therefore my heart rejoiced and my tongue exulted exceedingly; moreover, my flesh also will dwell in hope [will encamp, pitch its tent, and dwell in hope in anticipation of the resurrection].

2727 BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT ABANDON MY SOUL TO HADES, NOR ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY.

2727 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

2727 because You will not leave my soul in Hades, or allow Your Holy One to see decay.

2727 For you will not abandon my soul to Hades or allow your Holy One to experience decay.

2727 For You will not abandon my soul, leaving it helpless in Hades (the state of departed spirits), nor let Your Holy One know decay or see destruction [of the body after death].

2828 'YOU HAVE MADE KNOWN TO ME THE WAYS OF LIFE; YOU WILL MAKE ME FULL OF GLADNESS WITH YOUR PRESENCE.'

2828 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

2828 You have revealed the paths of life to me; You will fill me with gladness in Your presence.

2828 You have made the ways of life known to me, and you will fill me with gladness in your presence.'

2828 You have made known to me the ways of life; You will enrapture me [diffusing my soul with joy] with and in Your presence.

2929 "Brethren, I may confidently say to you regarding the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

2929 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

2929 "Brothers, I can confidently speak to you about the patriarch David: he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

2929 "Brothers, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and that his tomb is among us to this day.

2929 Brethren, it is permitted me to tell you confidently and with freedom concerning the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

3030 "And so, because he was a prophet and knew that GOD HAD SWORN TO HIM WITH AN OATH TO SEAT one OF HIS DESCENDANTS ON HIS THRONE,

3030 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

3030 Since he was a prophet, he knew that God had sworn an oath to him to seat one of his descendants on his throne.

3030 Therefore, since he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him with an oath to put one of his descendants on his throne,

3030 Being however a prophet, and knowing that God had sealed to him with an oath that He would set one of his descendants on his throne,

3131 he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that HE WAS NEITHER ABANDONED TO HADES, NOR DID His flesh SUFFER DECAY.

3131 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

3131 Seeing this in advance, he spoke concerning the resurrection of the Messiah: He was not left in Hades, and His flesh did not experience decay.

3131 he looked ahead and spoke about the resurrection of the Messiah: "He was not abandoned to Hades, and his flesh did not experience decay.'

3131 He, foreseeing this, spoke [by foreknowledge] of the resurrection of the Christ (the Messiah) that He was not deserted [in death] and left in Hades (the state of departed spirits), nor did His body know decay or see destruction.

3232 "This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses.

3232 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

3232 "God has resurrected this Jesus. We are all witnesses of this.

3232 "It was this very Jesus whom God raised and we're all witnesses of that.

3232 This Jesus God raised up, and of that all we [His disciples] are witnesses.

3333 "Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear.

3333 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

3333 Therefore, since He has been exalted to the right hand of God and has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit, He has poured out what you both see and hear.

3333 He has been exalted to the right hand of God, has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit, and has caused you to experience what you are seeing and hearing.

3333 Being therefore lifted high by and to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promised [blessing which is the] Holy Spirit, He has made this outpouring which you yourselves both see and hear.

3434 "For it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says: 'THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD, "SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,

3434 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

3434 For it was not David who ascended into the heavens, but he himself says: The Lord said to my Lord, 'Sit at My right hand

3434 After all, David did not go up to heaven, but he said, "The Lord told my Lord, "Sit at my right hand,

3434 For David did not ascend into the heavens; yet he himself says, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand and share My throne

3535 UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET."'

3535 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

3535 until I make Your enemies Your footstool.'

3535 until I make your enemies your footstool."'

3535 Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.

3636 "Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ--this Jesus whom you crucified."

3636 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

3636 "Therefore let all the house of Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah!"

3636 "Therefore, let all the people of Israel understand beyond a doubt that God made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah!"

3636 Therefore let the whole house of Israel recognize beyond all doubt and acknowledge assuredly that God has made Him both Lord and Christ (the Messiah) -- "this Jesus Whom you crucified.

The Response To Peter's Sermon

3737 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren, what shall we do?"

3737 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

3737 When they heard this, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles: "Brothers, what must we do?"

3737 When the crowd that had gathered heard this, they were pierced to the heart. They asked Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what should we do?"

3737 Now when they heard this they were stung (cut) to the heart, and they said to Peter and the rest of the apostles (special messengers), Brethren, what shall we do?

3838 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

3838 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

3838 "Repent," Peter said to them, "and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus the Messiah for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

3838 Peter answered them, "Every one of you must repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus the Messiah for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the Holy Spirit as a gift.

3838 And Peter answered them, Repent (change your views and purpose to accept the will of God in your inner selves instead of rejecting it) and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of and release from your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

3939 "For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself."

3939 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

3939 For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call."

3939 For this promise belongs to you and your children, as well as to all those who are distant, whom the Lord our God may call to himself."

3939 For the promise [of the Holy Spirit] is to and for you and your children, and to and for all that are far away, [even] to and for as many as the Lord our God invites and bids to come to Himself.

4040 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation!"

4040 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

4040 And with many other words he testified and strongly urged them, saying, "Be saved from this corrupt generation!"

4040 Using many different expressions, Peter continued to testify and to plead: "Be saved," he urged them, "from this corrupt generation!"

4040 And [Peter] solemnly and earnestly witnessed (testified) and admonished (exhorted) with much more continuous speaking and warned (reproved, advised, encouraged) them, saying, Be saved from this crooked (perverse, wicked, unjust) generation.

A Generous And Growing Church

4141 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.

4141 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

4141 So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about 3,000 people were added to them.

4141 So those who welcomed his message were baptized. That day about 3,000 people were added to their number.

4141 Therefore those who accepted and welcomed his message were baptized, and there were added that day about 3,000 souls.

The Fellowship Of The First Believers

4242 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

4242 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

4242 And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayers.

4242 The believers continued to devote themselves to what the apostles were teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to times of prayer.

4242 And they steadfastly persevered, devoting themselves constantly to the instruction and fellowship of the apostles, to the breaking of bread [including the Lord's Supper] and prayers.

Life Among The Believers

4343 Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles.

4343 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

4343 Then fear came over everyone, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles.

4343 A sense of fear came over everyone, and many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles.

4343 And a sense of awe (reverential fear) came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were performed through the apostles (the special messengers).

4444 And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common;

4444 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

4444 Now all the believers were together and had everything in common.

4444 All the believers were united and shared everything with one another.

4444 And all who believed (who adhered to and trusted in and relied on Jesus Christ) were united and [together] they had everything in common;

4545 and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need.

4545 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

4545 So they sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as anyone had a need.

4545 They made it their practice to sell their possessions and goods and to distribute the proceeds to anyone who was in need.

4545 And they sold their possessions (both their landed property and their movable goods) and distributed the price among all, according as any had need.

4646 Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,

4646 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

4646 And every day they devoted themselves [to meeting] together in the temple complex, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,

4646 United in purpose, they went to the Temple every day, ate at each other's homes, and shared their food with glad and humble hearts.

4646 And day after day they regularly assembled in the temple with united purpose, and in their homes they broke bread [including the Lord's Supper]. They partook of their food with gladness and simplicity and generous hearts,

4747 praising God and having favor with all the people And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.

4747 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

4747 praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to them those who were being saved.

4747 They were praising God and enjoying the good will of all the people. Every day the Lord was adding to their number those who were being saved.

4747 Constantly praising God and being in favor and goodwill with all the people; and the Lord kept adding [to their number] daily those who were being saved [from spiritual death].
