The Restorer Of Israel
1 But now, this is what the Lord, your Creator says, O Jacob,And He who formed you, O Israel,“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you [from captivity];I have called you by name; you are Mine!
1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
1 But now, thus says the Lord, your (A)Creator, O Jacob,And He who (B)formed you, O Israel,“Do not (C)fear, for I have (D)redeemed you;I have (E)called you by name; you are (F)Mine!
1 Now this is what the Lord says—the One who created you, Jacob,and the One who formed you, Israel(A)—“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;(B)I have called you by your name; you are Mine.(C)
1 But now this is what the LORD says, the one who created you, Jacob, the one who formed you, Israel: "Do not be afraid, because I've redeemed you. I've called you by name; you are mine.
2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you.When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched,Nor will the flame burn you.
2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
2 “When you (G)pass through the waters, (H)I will be with you;And through the rivers, they will not overflow you.When you (I)walk through the fire, you will not be scorched,Nor will the flame burn you.
2 I will be with you(D)when you pass through the waters,(E)and when you pass through the rivers,they will not overwhelm you.You will not be scorchedwhen you walk through the fire,(F)and the flame will not burn you.
2 When you pass through the waters, I'll be with you; and through the rivers, they won't sweep over you. when you walk through fire you won't be scorched, and the flame won't set you ablaze.
3 “For I am the Lord your God,The Holy One of Israel, your Savior;I have given Egypt [to the Babylonians] as your ransom,Cush (ancient Ethiopia) and Seba [its province] in exchange for you.
3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
3 “For (J)I am the Lord your God,The Holy One of Israel, your (K)Savior;I have given Egypt as your ransom,(a)(L)Cush and Seba in your place.
3 For I Yahweh your God,(G)the Holy One of Israel, and your Savior,(H)give Egypt as a ransom for you,Cush and Seba in your place.
3 "I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Redeemer And I've given Egypt as your ransom, Cush and the people of Seba in exchange for you.
4 “Because you are precious in My sight,You are honored and I love you,I will give other men in return for you and other peoples in exchange for your life.
4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
4 “Since you are (M)precious in My sight,Since you are (N)honored and I (O)love you,I will give other men in your place and other peoples in exchange for your life.
4 Because you are precious in My sight(I)and honored, and I love you,(J)I will give people in exchange for youand nations instead of your life.

5 “Do not fear, for I am with you;I will bring your offspring from the east [where they are scattered],And gather you from the west.(A)
5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;

6 “I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’And to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’Bring My sons from far wayAnd My daughters from the ends of the earth,
6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

7 Everyone who is called by My Name,Whom I have created for My glory,Whom I have formed, even whom I have made.”
7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

Israel Is The Lord's Witness
8 Bring out the people who are blind, even though they have eyes,And the deaf, even though they have ears.

9 All the nations have gathered togetherSo that the peoples may be assembled.Who among them (the idolaters) can (a)predict this [that Judah would return from captivity]And proclaim to us the former events?Let them provide their witnesses so that they may be justified,Or let them hear and say [in acknowledgement], “It is the truth.”(B)
9 Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.

10 “You are My witnesses,” declares the Lord,“And My servant whom I have chosen,That you may know and believe MeAnd understand that I am He.Before Me there was no God formed,And there will be none after Me.
10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
10 “You are (AE)My witnesses,” declares the Lord,“And (AF)My servant whom I have chosen,So that you may know and believe MeAnd understand that (AG)I am He.(AH)Before Me there was no God formed,And there will be none after Me.

10 "You are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and trust me and understand that I am the One. Before me no God was formed, nor will there be one after me.
12 “I have declared [the future] and saved [the nation] and proclaimed [that I am God],And there was no strange (alien) god among you;Therefore you are My witnesses [among the pagans],” declares the Lord,“That I am God.
12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.
12 “It is I who have declared and saved and proclaimed,And there was no (AK)strange god among you;So you are My witnesses,” declares the Lord,“And I am God.
12 I alone declared, saved, and proclaimed—and not some foreign god(a) among you.So you are My witnesses”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“and(b) I am God.(W)
12 I've revealed and saved and proclaimed, when there was no foreign god among you and you are my witnesses," declares the LORD.
13 “Even from eternity I am He,And there is no one who can rescue from My hand;I act, and who can revoke or reverse it?”
13 Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?
13 “Even (b)(AL)from eternity (AM)I am He,And there is (AN)none who can deliver out of My hand;(AO)I act and who can reverse it?”
13 Also, from today on I am He alone,and none can deliver from My hand.(X)I act, and who can reverse it?”(Y)
13 "I am God; also from ancient days I am the one. And there is no one who can deliver out of my hand; when I act, who can reverse it?"
Yahweh Rescues His People
14 This is what the Lord your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says,“For your sake I have sent [one] to Babylon,And I will bring down all of them as fugitives,Even the Chaldeans [who reign in Babylon], into the ships (b)over which they rejoiced.
14 Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.
14 Thus says the Lord your (AP)Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel,“For your sake I have sent to Babylon,And will bring them all down as fugitives,(c)Even the (AQ)Chaldeans, into the (AR)ships (d)in which they rejoice.
14 This is what the Lord, your Redeemer,(Z) the Holy One of Israel(AA) says:Because of you, I will send to Babylonand bring all of them as fugitives,(c)even the Chaldeans(AB) in the ships in which they rejoice.(d)
14 This is what the LORD says, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "For your sake I will send to Babylon, and bring them all down as fugitives. Now as for the Babylonians, their ringing cry will become lamentation.
Despite The People Of Israel's Past Sin, The Lord Will Forgive Them
17 He who brings out the chariot and the horse,The army and the mighty warrior,(They will lie down together, they will not rise again;They have been extinguished, they have been put out like a lamp’s wick):
17 Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.

17 who brings out chariots and horsemen, and armies and warriors at the same time. They lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a candle:
19 “Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing,Now it will spring forth;Will you not be aware of it?I will even put a road in the wilderness,Rivers in the desert.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
19 “Behold, I will do something (AY)new,Now it will spring forth;Will you not be aware of it?I will even (AZ)make a roadway in the wilderness,Rivers in the desert.
19 Look, I am about to do something new;(AG)even now it is coming. Do you not see it?Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness,(AH)rivers(e) in the desert.
19 Watch! I'm about to carry out something new! And now it's springing up don't you recognize it? I'm making a way in the wilderness and paths in the desert.
20 “The beasts of the field will honor Me,Jackals and ostriches,Because I have given waters in the wildernessAnd rivers in the desert,To give drink to My people, My chosen.(C)
20 The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.
20 “The beasts of the field will glorify Me,The (BA)jackals and the ostriches,Because I have (BB)given waters in the wildernessAnd rivers in the desert,To give drink to My chosen people.
20 The animals of the field will honor Me,jackals and ostriches,because I provide water in the wilderness,and rivers in the desert,(AI)to give drink to My chosen people.
20 Wild animals, jackals, and owls will honor me because I provide water in the desert and streams in the wilderness to give drink to my people, my chosen ones,
Israel's Sin
23 “You have not brought Me your sheep or goats for your burnt offerings,Nor honored Me with your sacrifices.I have not burdened you with offerings,Nor wearied you with [demands for offerings of] incense.
23 Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense.
23 “You have (BF)not brought to Me the sheep of your burnt offerings,Nor have you (BG)honored Me with your sacrifices.I have not (BH)burdened you with (e)offerings,Nor wearied you with (BI)incense.

24 “You have not bought Me sweet cane with money,Nor have you filled Me with the fat of your sacrifices;But you have burdened Me with your sins,You have wearied Me with your wickedness.
24 Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.
24 “You have bought Me not (f)(BJ)sweet cane with money,Nor have you (g)filled Me with the fat of your sacrifices;Rather you have burdened Me with your sins,You have (BK)wearied Me with your iniquities.
24 You have not bought Me aromatic cane with silver,or satisfied Me with the fat of your sacrifices.But you have burdened Me with your sins;you have wearied Me(AM) with your iniquities.(AN)
24 You haven't bought me sweet cane with money, nor have you satisfied me with the fat of your sacrifices. You have only burdened me with your sins and made me tired with your iniquities.
25 “I, only I, am He who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake,And I will not remember your sins.
25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
25 “I, even I, am the one who (BL)wipes out your transgressions (BM)for My own sake,And I will (BN)not remember your sins.

26 “(c)Remind Me [of your merits with a thorough report], let us plead and argue our case together;State your position, that you may be proved right.

28 “So I will (d)profane the officials of the sanctuary,And I will consign Jacob to destruction and [I will subject] Israel to defamation and abuse.
28 Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches.
28 “So I will (l)pollute the (m)princes of the sanctuary,And I will consign Jacob to the (BS)ban and Israel to (BT)revilement.
28 So I defiled the officers of the sanctuary,and set Jacob apart for destruction(AU)and Israel for abuse.
28 So I'll disgrace the leaders of the Temple, and I'll consign Jacob to total destruction and Israel to contempt.
