Luke 9:44

Jesus Again Foretells His Death

⁴³ They were all overwhelmed by the greatness of God. Everyone marveled at all the things he did. Jesus said to his disciples: ⁴⁴ “Let these words sink into your ears; for the Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men.” ⁴⁵ They did not understand what he said. The meaning was concealed from them. They could not comprehend it. And they were afraid to ask him about it.

Luke 9:22

The Son of man must suffer many things, he told them. The elders, chief priests and scribes will reject him and kill him. The third day he will be raised up.

2 Samuel 24:14

I am in a desperate situation, David told Gad. Please let us fall into Jehovah's hands because he is very merciful. But do not let me fall into human hands.

Isaiah 32:9-10

Rise up, you women who are at ease. Hear my voice and pay attention to my word, you complacent daughters.
