Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.
His mother was named Athaliah. She was the granddaughter of Omri, king of Israel. Ahaziah lived his life following the example of Ahab's household, practicing what the LORD considered to be evil, just like the household of Ahab, because he was a son-in-law to Ahab's household.
And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal.
But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons which were slain; and they hid him, even him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain.
And he was with her hid in the house of the LORD six years. And Athaliah did reign over the land.

So they arrested Athaliah, took her out through the same entrance used by the horses for entering the king's palace, and executed her.
And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was in quiet: and they slew Athaliah with the sword beside the king's house.

Then Athaliah rent her clothes, and said, Treason, Treason.
So they seized Athaliah, and when she arrived at the entrance of the Horse Gate of the king’s house (palace), they put her to death there.
And all the people of the land rejoiced: and the city was quiet, after that they had slain Athaliah with the sword.

And Jehoida the priest will command the captains of hundreds: overseeing the army, and he will say to them Bring her forth to within the ranks, be going after her being killed with the sword, For the priest said, She shall not be: killed in the house of Jehovah And they will put their hands upon her; and she will go the way of the entrance of the, horses of the king's house: and she will die there.
And: all the people of the land will rejoice, and the city rested: and they killed Athaliah with the sword in the house of the king.
And Athaliah will hear the voice of the people running and praising the king, and she will come to the people in the house of Jehovah. And she will see, and behold, the king standing upon his standing in the coming in, and the chiefs and the trumpets by the king: and all the people of the land rejoicing, and they clanged upon the trumpets; and those singing with instruments of the song, and those knowing to praise. And Athaliah will rend her garments and say, A conspiracy! a conspiracy! And surround upon the king round about, a man and his weapon in, his hand: and he coming into the ranks shall be slain.
