And they took of their cattle fifty thousand camels, and two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, and two thousand asses, and of the people a hundred thousand: for there fell many dead because the war was of God. And they dwelt there in their steads until the time that they were carried away.

And eastward he inhabited until the wilderness, even upon the river Euphrates, for their cattle was much in the land of Gilead. And in the days of Saul they warred with the Hagrites which were overthrown by their hands. And they dwelt in their tents throughout all the east land of Gilead.


The children of Reuben and the children of Gad had an exceeding great multitude of cattle. And when they saw the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, that it was an apt place for cattle,

Gilead is a city of wicked doers, of malicious people and bloodshedders.
