'The Twelve' in the Bible
And it fortuned after that, that he himself went throughout cities and towns, preaching, and showing the kingdom of God, and the twelve with him.
Then called he the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and that they might heal diseases.
And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, "Send the people away, that they may go into the towns, and villages roundabout, and lodge, and get meat, for we are here in a place of wilderness."
Then entered Satan into Judas, whose surname was Iscariot, which was of the number of the twelve:
And when the hour was come, he sat down: and the twelve apostles with him.
that ye may eat, and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on seats, and judge the twelve tribes of Israel."
While he yet spake: behold, there came a company: and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and pressed nigh unto Jesus to kiss him.
