To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

And has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Who was the son of Melea, who was the son of Menna, who was the son of Mattatha, who was the son of Nathan, who was the son of David,

And Jesus answering them said, Have you not read so much as this, what David did, when he was hungry, and they who were with him;

And he cried, saying, Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me.

And they who went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, You son of David, have mercy on me.

And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son?

And David himself said in the book of Psalms, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit on my right hand,

David therefore called him Lord, how is he then his son?
