But whoever should drink of the water which I shall give him, shall never thirst; but the water which I shall give him shall be in him a spring of water springing up to eternal life.

and Jacob's spring was there. So Jesus, tired from His journey, was sitting by the spring just as He was. It was about noon.

Do not the Scriptures say that the Christ is to spring from David and to come from the village of Bethlehem where David lived?"

The Jews who were sitting with her in the house, condoling with her, when they saw Mary spring up and go out, supposed that she was going to weep at the tomb, and followed her.

as soon as the steward had tasted the water that was made wine, (for he did not know whence it came, but the servants who drew the water knew it,) he called the bridegroom,

(for a messenger went down at certain times into the pool, and agitated the water: the first then that stepped in after this commotion of the water, was cured of whatever disease he had.)

Jesus said to them, "Fill the water jars with water." And they filled them to the brim.

A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give me [water] to drink."

Jesus answered and said to her, "If you had known the gift of God and who it is who says to you, 'Give me [water] to drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water."

The woman said to him, "Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or come here to draw [water]!"

The woman [then] said to Him, "Sir, you do not have anything to draw [water] with, and the well is deep. Where will you get that living water?

The sick man answered Him, "Sir, I do not have anyone to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but [just] when I am about to enter [it] someone else goes down [into the water] before me."
