Whoever would love life and see good days should keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
The tongue is like fire, the place of iniquity among our members. It defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of our life. It is set ablaze like the ever-burning fires in the Valley of Hinnom (Greek: Gehenna: symbolic of total destruction).
Brothers, do not speak against each other. He who speaks against a brother, or judges his brother, speaks against the law, and judges the law. If you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge.
Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, and to be ready to do every good work, to speak evil of no man, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all meekness toward all men.

Brothers, do not be like children in understanding. When it comes to evil be innocent children but in your thinking be mature adults.
