I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another. All men will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another.
Tolerate (endure) (suffer) (put up with) one another, and forgive each other. If any man has a complaint against anyone, forgive them, even as God forgave you. Above all these things, put on love, which is the bond of perfection and unity.
You have purified your hearts by obeying the truth. You have genuine affection for the brothers and sisters. So always love one another intensely (extremely) (deeply) from the heart.

Faithful is the saying: If a man seeks the office of overseer, he desires a good work.
Obey those who lead you. Submit to them: for they watch in behalf of your lives and must account for this. Obey them that their work may be a joy and not a burden; that would be without gain for you.
I exhort the elders among you. I too am an older man and a witness of the sufferings of Christ. I am also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed. Shepherd the flock of God in your care. Exercise the oversight, not of constraint, but willingly, according to the will of God. Do not do it for dishonest gain, but eagerly. Do not lord it over your charge, but make yourselves examples to the flock.
