He said to him: Which? Jesus replied: You shall not kill; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not give false testimony; Honor your father and your mother; and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

When the Pharisees heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they came together. And one of them, who was a lawyer, asked him a question, that he might tempt him, saying: Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law? read more.
Jesus said to him: You shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, and with your whole soul, and with your whole mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole law and the prophets.

And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up to tempt him, and said: Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said to him: What is written in the law? How do you read? He answered and said: You shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, and with your whole soul, and with your whole strength, and with your whole understanding, and your neighbor as yourself. read more.
He said to him: You have answered correctly; do this, and you shall live.

Owe no one any thing, except to love one another; for he that loves another, has fulfilled the law. For these commandments: You shall not commit adultery, you shall not kill, you shall not steal, you shall not indulge evil desire; and if there is any other commandment, all are summed up in this saying, namely: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Love works no evil to our neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.





But we that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of those who are not strong, and not to please ourselves. Let each one of us please his neighbor in that which is good for his edification.
