But when you make a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind; and you shall be blessed; for they have no power to repay you; but you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.

and my trial, which was in my flesh, you did not despise or loathe; but you received me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus.

Put on, therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, a merciful disposition, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering:

requesting only that we would remember the poor, which same thing I have been diligent in doing.

What profit is there, my brethren, if any one say he has faith, and have not works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and any of you say to them, Go in peace, be warmed and be filled, and yet give them not the things that are needful for the body, what does this profit them?read more.
So, also, faith, if it has not works, is dead, being by itself.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of an gels, but have not love, I have become as sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. Then they also will answer, and say: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to thee? Then will he answer them, saying: Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me. And these shall go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.

For all the law is fulfilled in one commandment, in this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

And as you would that men should do to you, do you also in like manner to them.
