Now what we look for in stewards is that they should be trustworthy.
But also with reference to us. Our faith, too, will be regarded by God in the same light, if we have faith in him who raised Jesus, our Lord, from the dead;
Why, which of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and reckon the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?--
Jesus said to his disciples: "There was a rich man who had a steward; and this steward was maliciously accused to him of wasting his estate.
What we are specially guarding against is that any fault should be found with us in regard to our administration of this charitable fund;
Even before the time of the Law there was sin in the world; but sin cannot be charged against a man where no Law exists.
Scripture says-'For thy sake we are being killed all the day long, We are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.'
Faith enables us to perceive that the universe was created at the bidding of God--so that we know that what we see was not made out of visible things.
