28 Bible Verses about Chastity

Do not commit adultery.

Make your members that are upon the earth dead with regard to fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness (greed), which is idolatry.

This is the will of God, for your sanctification (holiness) (purification), that you should abstain from fornication.

We should write to them that they should abstain from things polluted by idols, from fornication, from things strangled and from blood.

Do not give your strength to women. Do not give your ways to that which destroys kings.

They have eyes full of adultery that cannot cease from sin! They entice unsteady persons. Their hearts are full of covetousness. They are children of cursing.

They are past feeling. They have given themselves over to loose conduct, to work all uncleanness with greediness (a lust for more).

They are filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil mindedness; they are whisperers,

In like manner these men also in their dreams defile the flesh, reject authority and speak evil of glorious ones.

The mouth of the adulterous is a deep pit. The one who is cursed by Jehovah will fall into it.

The lips of an immoral woman drip as a honeycomb. Her mouth is smoother than oil. But in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two edged sword. Her feet go down to death. Her steps take hold of the grave. read more.
She does not ponder the path of life. Her unstable ways she does not know. Hear me now my son. Do not depart from the words of my mouth. Keep far away from her. Do not go near the door of her house. You will give your honor (majesty) to others and your years to the cruel one. Strangers will be filled with your financial strength. Strangers will benefit from your hard work. You mourn at last, when your flesh and your body are consumed.

Do not let your heart go after her ways. Do not stray in her paths. She has wounded many. Many strong men have been slain by her. Her house is the way to the grave, going down to the chambers of death.

Foods are for the belly, and the belly for foods, but God will destroy both of them. Now the body is not for fornication but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body.

Do you not know that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and unite them with (turn them into) the members of a prostitute? God forbid! What? Do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one (united with her) body? For he said: Two will be one flesh. He who is joined to the Lord is one (united with him in) spirit. read more.
Flee from fornication! Every sin that a man does is outside his body. But he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit? That one (Greek: hos he ho which, that one) is in you. You received it from God. You are not your own.

For God has not called us to uncleanness, but to holiness.

Wisdom enters your heart. Knowledge gives you pleasure. Discretion will protect you. Understanding will watch over you.

Say to wisdom: You are my sister! Call understanding your friend. That they may keep you from the adulteress, from the stranger with seductive words.

You have spent enough time in the past doing what unbelievers like to do. Your lives were spent in indecency, lusts, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and the disgusting worship of idols (false gods).

Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? God will destroy any man who defiles the temple of God! For the temple of God is holy. You are that temple!

Now the works of the flesh (sinful human nature) are apparent. They are: fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, wrath, contentions, divisions, sects, envies, drunkenness, revelries, and things like these. I forewarn you, even as I did forewarn you, that those who practice such things would not inherit the kingdom of God.

Do not look on the wine when it is red, when it shines in the cup, when it goes down smoothly. In the end it bites like a serpent and stings like a viper. Your eyes will see strange things and your heart (and mind) will utter perverse things.

I find what was worse than death is the woman whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands are chains. He who pleases God will escape from her. But she will capture the sinner.

In like manner, you wives, be in subjection to your own husbands. Even if your husband does not obey God's word, he may be won without a word by observing the way you live. Your husband could see your chaste behavior coupled with respect (reverence).

And now, my daughter, have no fear. I will do for you whatever you say, for it is clear to all my townspeople that you are a woman of virtue.

Potiphar's wife kept Joseph's coat until her husband came home. She said: That Hebrew slave of yours tried to rape me! When I screamed for help, he left his coat and ran out of the house. Potiphar became very angry and threw Joseph in the same prison where the king's prisoners were kept. While Joseph was in prison,

Rest here tonight. In the morning, if he wants to redeem you, for it is right for a relation to do this, very well, let him do so. But if he will not, then as surely as Jehovah lives, I will do so.

However, I tell you that whoever looks at a woman with lustful thoughts commits adultery with her in his heart.

These are they who were not defiled with women. They are virgins. These are they who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed (bought) from among mankind. They are the first fruits to God and to the Lamb.

This is the will of God, for your sanctification (holiness) (purification), that you should abstain from fornication.
