for this you know, that no licentious or dissolute person, no lewd libertine, that is, an idolater, hath any part in the kingdom of Christ, and of God.

now these things were examples to deter us from longing after things that are pernicious, as they did. be not idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written, "the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play."
