But wo to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days; for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath on this people. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden by the Gentiles, till the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. And there shall be signs in the sun, and moon, and stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea roaring and tossing:
I have spoken these things to you, that ye may have peace in me. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but take courage: I have overcome the world.
Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith; and that we must through many tribulations enter into the kingdom of God.
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also,
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall affliction, or distress, or persecution, or hunger, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, continue instant in prayer.
I apprehend therefore, that this is good for the present distress, that it is good for a man to continue as he is.
Great is my freedom of speech toward you; great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I exceedingly abound with joy, over all our affliction.
For when we were with you we told you before, we should be afflicted; as it came to pass, and ye know.
Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you, in, all our affliction and distress by your faith.
So that we ourselves glory of you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and sufferings which ye endure:
