Therefore the sons of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their ages for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the sons of Israel for ever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.

And Jesus being full of the Holy Spirit returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness for forty days and was tempted of the devil. And in those days he ate nothing; and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Some of those that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calls for Elijah.read more.
And straightway one of them ran and took a sponge and filled it with vinegar and put it on a reed and gave him to drink. The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elijah will come to save him. But Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, gave the spirit.
And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? And some of those that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calls Elijah.read more.

Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar, and they filled a sponge with vinegar and put it upon hyssop and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished, and he bowed his head and gave the Spirit.
And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting to the right hand side, covered in a long white garment; and they were frightened. But he said unto them, Do not be frightened; Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified; he is risen; he is not here; behold the place where they laid him.
And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye, for I know that ye seek Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
And it came to pass as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments; and as they were afraid and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen; remember how he spoke unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands and blessed them. And it came to pass while he blessed them, he was parted from them and carried up into heaven.
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.read more.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
