Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters; as the eyes of a maiden to the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait on Jehovah our God, until He shall have mercy on us.
But as he had nothing to pay, his lord commanded that he, and his wife and children, and all that he had, be sold, and payment be made.

And I will bring distress on men, so that they shall walk with the blind, because they have sinned against Jehovah. And their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as dung. Their silver nor their gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy. Howl! For the day of Jehovah is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.

For the day of Jehovah comes, for it is near at hand; a day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread on the mountains; a great people and a strong people; there has not been ever the like, nor shall there ever be again, even to the years of many generations.
Woe to those desiring the day of Jehovah! What is this for you? The day of Jehovah is darkness and not light; as if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a snake bit him. Shall not the day of Jehovah be darkness and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?
to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
For you yourselves know accurately that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.
that you should not be soon shaken in mind or troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word or letter, as through us, as if the Day of Christ is at hand.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat. And the earth and the works in it will be burned up.
He shall also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
even as you have recognized us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as you also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.
