And you shall say unto Pharaoh, Thus says the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn: And I say unto you, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if you refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay your son, even your firstborn.
If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
You are the children of the LORD your God: you shall not cut yourselves, nor make any bald place on your foreheads for the dead.
They have corrupted themselves, their blemish is not the blemish of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation. Do you thus repay the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he your father that has bought you? has he not made you, and established you?

For whom the Lord loves he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives. If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not?
Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the children of God: therefore the world knows us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the children of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
