for just as the woman was made from the man, so also is the man born of the woman, while they both come from God.

And man was not created for woman, but woman for man.

Again, the woman who is widow, or the maid, is anxious about the Lord's business, how she may be pure in body and in mind; but the married woman is anxious about worldly affairs, how she may please her husband.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her,

"In the resurrection, then, whose wife will she be? They all had her."

and on the other hand their men likewise abandoned the natural use of women, and were ablaze with passion for one another; men with men practising shameless acts and receiving in their own person that recompense of their wrong-doing which necessarily followed.

I allow no woman to teach, or to exercise authority over a man; but let her keep quiet.
