And a certain ruler asked him saying, Good master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? But Jesus said to him, Why callest thou me good?

For when the Gentiles, who have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these not having the law, are a law to themselves; Who shew the work of the law written upon their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts among themselves accusing or even defending them,

not walking in craftiness, nor deceitfully corrupting the word of God, but by manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife: And they twain shall be one flesh; so then they are no more twain but one flesh.read more.
What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

This was the true light, who lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Let every soul be subject to the supreme powers, for there is no power but from God; the powers that be, are appointed by God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the appointment of God; and they that resist shall receive to themselves condemnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Wouldest thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise from it; for he is the servant of God to thee for good.read more.
But if thou dost that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain; for he is the servant of God, an avenger for wrath against him that doth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. For this cause ye pay tribute also: for they are the ministers of God, attending continually on this very thing. Render therefore to all their due: tribute to whom tribute is due, custom to whom custom, fear to whom fear, honour to whom honour.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report: if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things:

Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready for every good work:

Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether it be to the king as supreme, Or to governors, as sent by him, for the punishment of evil-doers, and the praise of them that do well.

Amen. Therefore God gave them up to vile affections; for even their women changed the natural use to that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the women, burned in their lust toward each other, men with men working filthiness, and receiving in themselves the just recompence of their error.

But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up to thyself wrath in the day of wrath, and revelation, and righteous judgment of God? Who will render to every one according to his works: To them that by patient continuance in well-doing seek for glory, and honour, and immortality, eternal life.read more.
But to them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, shall be indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, Even upon every soul of man who worketh evil, of the Jew first, and also the Gentile: But glory, honour, and peace shall be to every one who worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile. For there is no respect of persons with God.

For all have sinned, and are fallen short of the glory of God,

And as they were not careful to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them up to an undiscerning mind, to do things not expedient, Filled with all injustice, maliciousness, covetousness, wickedness: full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malignity: Whisperers, backbiters: haters of God, violent, proud: boasters, inventers of evil things: disobedient to parents,read more.
Without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful. Who knowing the righteous judgment of God, that they who do such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in those that do them.

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

By the hypocrisy of them that speak lies, having their own consciences seared as with an hot iron:
