Don't ever forget that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, yet the LORD your God redeemed you. Therefore, I'm giving you these commands today.

Deuteronomy 24:21-22

When you harvest the grapes in your vineyard, don't go back a second time. What remains are for the foreigner, the orphan, or the widow. Remember to do this because you were slaves in the land of Egypt. That is why I'm commanding you to do this."
