I will always be ready to remind you of these things. Even though you know them, and are established in the truth that is present with you.
This is the second letter I write to you, beloved. I stimulate your memory in each letter.
God said: This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I give you my rainbow in the clouds. Then God said to Abraham: As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come. This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised. You are to undergo circumcision. It will be the sign of the covenant between us.read more.
For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised. This includes those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner, those who are not your offspring. Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be circumcised. My covenant in your flesh is to be a long lasting covenant. Any male not circumcised in the flesh will be cut off from his people. He has broken my covenant.
This day will be a memorial to you. You shall celebrate it as a feast to Jehovah. You are to celebrate it as a permanent ordinance throughout your generations. You will eat unleavened bread for seven days. The first day you shall remove leaven from your houses. Whoever eats anything leavened from the first day until the seventh day will be cut off from Israel. You shall have a holy assembly on the first day. There should be another holy assembly on the seventh day. No work at all will be done on them, except what must be eaten by every person that alone may be prepared by you.read more.
You shall also observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread. That was the day I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt. Observe this day throughout your generations as a long lasting ordinance. In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty-first day of the month at evening. There shall be no leaven found in your houses for seven days. Whoever eats what is leavened shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is an alien or a native of the land. You shall not eat anything leavened. Eat unleavened bread in all your dwellings.
Observe the month of Abib and celebrate the Passover to Jehovah your God. It was in the month of Abib that Jehovah your God brought you out of Egypt by night. Sacrifice the Passover to Jehovah your God from the flock and the herd, in the place where Jehovah chooses to establish his name. Do not eat leavened bread with it. Eat unleavened bread for seven days. It is the bread of affliction. You should remember all the days of your life the day when you came out of the land of Egypt in haste.read more.
No leaven should be seen with you in all your territory for seven days. None of the flesh you sacrifice on the evening of the first day shall remain overnight until morning. You are not allowed to sacrifice the Passover in any of your towns Jehovah your God is giving you. It must be at the place where Jehovah your God chooses to establish his name. Sacrifice the Passover in the evening at sunset, at the time that you came out of Egypt. Cook and eat it in the place Jehovah your God chooses. In the morning you are to return to your tents. Eat unleavened bread for six days. On the seventh day there shall be a solemn assembly to Jehovah your God. Do not do work on it.
Moses said to the people: Remember this day in the month of Abib. It is the day Jehovah's mighty power rescued you from slavery in Egypt. Do not eat anything made with yeast. You are going out this day in the month Abib. Jehovah shall bring you into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. He swore to your fathers to give you this land flowing with milk and honey. You shall observe this rite in this month.read more.
You must eat unleavened bread seven days. The seventh day will be a feast to Jehovah. Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days. No leavened bread shall be seen with you or in all your borders. On that day tell your children: 'We do this because of what Jehovah did for us when we left Egypt.' This festival will be like a mark on your hand. It will be a reminder on your forehead that the teachings of Jehovah are always to be a part of your conversation! Jehovah used his mighty hand to bring you out of Egypt. You must follow these rules every year at this time.

For I received from the Lord that which I delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread. And when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, Take and eat. I think it right, as long as I am in this body, to stir you up by reminding you. I know that putting off my earthly dwelling is imminent, even as our Lord Jesus Christ indicated to me.read more.
I will be diligent so that every time after my departure you will remember these things. We did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
These sacrifices are an annual reminder of sin. It is not possible for the blood of bulls and of goats to take away sins.
The king's chief cupbearer said: Now I remember what I was supposed to do.
Collect this money from the people of Israel and spend it for the upkeep of the tent of meeting. This tax will be the payment for their lives. I will remember to protect them.
Jehovah continued to speak to Moses: Speak to the Israelites and say: 'A man's wife may have been unfaithful to him and may have had sexual intercourse with another man without her husband's knowledge. She may have kept it secret if there were no witnesses to accuse her and she was not caught in the act.read more.
A husband may have a fit of jealousy and suspect his wife, whether she was actually unfaithful or not. He must then take his wife to the priest along with eight cups of barley flour as an offering for her. He must not pour olive oil on the flour or put frankincense on it, since it is a grain offering brought because of the husband's jealousy. It is an offering used for a confession, to remind someone of a sin that was committed.
It will never again be the confidence of the house of Israel, bringing to mind the iniquity of their having turned to Egypt. Then they will know that I am the Lord Jehovah.'
Speak to the Israelites and tell them: For generations to come they must wear tassels on the corners of their clothes. Each tassel should have violet threads. When you look at the threads in the tassel, you will remember all Jehovah's commandments and obey them. Then you will not do whatever you want and go after whatever you see, as if you were chasing after prostitutes. You will remember to obey all my commandments. You will be holy to your God.
Observe both God's kindness and severity. Severity is for those who fail to continue. But kindness is for you as long as you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you will be cut off.
A great cloud of witnesses surround us. Therefore let us lay aside every weight, and the sin that easily entangles us. Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. Look to (consider without distractions) Jesus, the Leader (Predecessor) and Finisher (Perfecter) of our faith. He despised the shame. He endured the stake for the joy that was set before him. Then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such contrary talk by sinners against him. You should not get tired and give up in your mind (heart).
This is the second letter I write to you, beloved. I stimulate your memory in each letter. You should remember the words that were spoken before by the holy prophets, and the commandments of the Lord and Savior through your apostles.
For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God that is in you because of the laying on of my hands.
Do not neglect the spiritual gift in you. It was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elders.
Nevertheless, brothers, I have written more boldly to you on some points, keeping you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me from God,
Moses wrote this Law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi who carried the Ark of the Covenant of Jehovah, and to all the elders of Israel. Moses commanded them: At the end of every seven years, at the time of the year of remission of debts, at the Feast of Booths, when all Israel comes to appear before Jehovah your God at the place he will choose, you shall read this Law in front of all Israel in their hearing.read more.
Assemble the people, the men and the women and children and the alien who is in your town. Assemble them that they may hear and learn and respect Jehovah your God, and be careful to observe all the words of this Law. Their children, who have not known, will hear and learn to respect Jehovah your God, as long as you live on the land you will possess when you cross the Jordan River.
I send Timothy, my beloved son faithful in the Lord, to you for this purpose. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ, just as I teach it in every congregation.
Brothers, I declared the good news to you. You have received it and should continue strong in it. You will be saved through the good news if you hold fast to the word I preached to you. That way you will not believe in vain.
Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, and to be ready to do every good work, to speak evil of no man, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all meekness toward all men.
