Shout for joy, O heavens! Rejoice, O earth! Break into joyful shouting, O mountains! For Jehovah has comforted his people. He will have compassion on his afflicted.

For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you, says Jehovah your Redeemer.

Truly I tell you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.

You greatly rejoice in this, though you have been grieved with various trials for a little while.

Our light affliction is for the moment. It works more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory for us.

I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed in us.

People will cause you tribulation, and kill you. You will be hated by all the nations for my name's sake.

They will do all these things to you for my name's sake. It is because they do not know the one that sent me.

and also persecutions and sufferings. The things that happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured. Out of them the Lord delivered me. Yes, and all who would live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
