and thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, and as he that lieth down upon the top of a mast: 'They have smitten me, and I am not sore; they have beaten me, and I knew it not. When shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.''
according as it is written, God has given to them a spirit of slumber, eyes not to see, and ears not to hear, unto this day.
For Jehovah hath poured out upon you a spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes; the prophets and your chiefs, the seers, hath he covered.
This also, knowing the time, that it is already time that we should be aroused out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, and the day is near; let us cast away therefore the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is ready, but the flesh weak.
