No temptation has taken you but such as is according to man's nature; and God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able to bear, but will with the temptation make the issue also, so that ye should be able to bear it.
Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, wrestling against sin.
for, in that himself has suffered, being tempted, he is able to help those that are being tempted.
Then Jesus was carried up into the wilderness by the Spirit to be tempted of the devil:
Subject yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for, having been proved, he shall receive the crown of life, which He has promised to them that love him.
and lead us not into temptation, but save us from evil.

And the serpent said to the woman, Ye will not certainly die;
forty days, tempted of the devil; and in those days he did not eat anything, and when they were finished he hungered.
For this reason I also, no longer able to refrain myself, sent to know your faith, lest perhaps the tempter had tempted you and our labour should be come to nothing.
Whom resist, stedfast in faith, knowing that the selfsame sufferings are accomplished in your brotherhood which is in the world.
But youthful lusts flee, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those that call upon the Lord out of a pure heart.

Jesus said to him, It is again written, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Again the devil takes him to a very high mountain, and shews him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory, and says to him, All these things will I give thee if, falling down, thou wilt do me homage. Then says Jesus to him, Get thee away, Satan, for it is written, Thou shalt do homage to the Lord thy God, and him alone shalt thou serve.
