From one forefather He made every nation of mankind, for living all over the face of the earth, fixing their appointed times and the limits of their lands,

So I tell you, for every worthless word that men utter they will have to give account on the day of judgment;

For the time that is past is enough for you to have accomplished what the heathen like to do, leading lives that are steeped in sensuality, lustful desires, drunkenness, carousing, revelry, dissipation, and idolatry that leads to lawlessness, They are astonished that you are not still rushing hand in hand with them into the same excesses of profligate living, and they abuse you for it; but they will have to give account for it to Him who is ready to judge living and dead.

in which you once lived in accordance with the spirit of this present world, and the mighty prince of the air, who is always at work in the disobedient, among whom all of us, we Jews as well as you heathen, once lived while gratifying the cravings of our lower nature, as we continued to carry out the impulses of our lower nature and its thoughts, and by nature we were exposed to God's wrath, as the rest of mankind.

So once for all put to death your lower, earthly nature with respect to sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which is real idolatry. It is on account of these very sins that God's anger is coming. You too used to practice these sins, when you used to live that sort of life.

At last the rest of the bridesmaids came, and kept begging, 'Master, master, open the door for us!' But he answered, 'I positively say to you, I do not know you.'

and continue to make the most of your opportunities, for the times are evil.

From that time Jesus continued to preach and say, "Repent! For the kingdom of heaven is near."

"The time is ripe and the kingdom of God is near; repent and believe in the good news."

As God's fellow-worker I beg you too not to accept God's favor and throw it away. For He says: "At a welcome time I have listened to you, and on a day of salvation I have helped you." Right now the time of welcome is here; right now it is the day of salvation.

So then whenever we have an opportunity, let us practice doing good to everybody, but especially to the members of the family of faith.

Practice living prudently in your relations with outsiders, making the most of your opportunities.

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: "If you but hear His voice today, You must not harden your hearts as they did in provoking me, as on the day in the desert they tested me, Where your forefathers found I stood their test, because they saw my works for forty years,read more.

While Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred to its depths to see the city completely steeped in idolatry. So he kept up his discussions in the synagogue with the Jews and the pagans who were worshiping there, and also day by day in the public square with any who chanced to be there.
