We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ,
Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good life let him show his deeds in the humility of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.
Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

while our more presentable members have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving the greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.
What is the outcome then, brethren? When you come together, each one has a hymn, or a teaching, or a revelation, or a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. If anyone speaks in a tongue, it should be by two or at the most three, and each in turn; and one must interpret. But if there is no interpreter, he must keep silent in the church; and let him speak to himself and to God.read more.

for although they knew God they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Now this I affirm and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds, they are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to the hardness of their heart; and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality, greedy for the practice of every kind of impurity.
For by the grace given to me I say to every one among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith which God has assigned him.
For consider your call, brethren; not many of you were wise according to fleshly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth.
Let no one deceive himself. If any one among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become a fool so that he may become wise.
Therefore let any one who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.
Brethren, do not be children in your thinking; be infants in evil, but in thinking be mature.
I think that I am not in the least inferior to these super-apostles. But even if I am unskilled in speech, I am not in knowledge; in every way we have made this plain to you in all things.
For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving;
For we do not dare to class or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves. But when they measure themselves by themselves, and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding.
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornications, theft, false witness, slander.
They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts accusing or else excusing them

For the Gentiles seek after all these things; and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Therefore, prepare your minds for action, be sober in spirit, set your hope fully on the grace to be given you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance,
Or what king, going to make war against another king, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?
