Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?

They answered him, "You were born in utter sin, and are you teaching us?" And they cast him out.

unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,

and when they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand. And they bowed the knee before him and mocked him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!"

Also he told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank you that I am not like other menextortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

"He who hears you hears me, he who rejects you rejects me, and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me."

Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself, and has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man. Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming when all who are in the graves will hear his voice read more.
and come forth those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.

and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desire and despise authority. Bold and willful, they are not afraid to revile the glorious ones,

Yet in the same way these men in their dreamings defile the flesh, reject authority, and revile the glorious ones.

So let no one despise him. Send him on his way in peace, that he may return to me; for I am expecting him with the brethren.

For they say, "His letters are weighty and strong, but his personal presence is weak, and his speech of no account."

Let no one look down on your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

"See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful to them because they are brethren, but they must serve them all the better, because those who benefit by their service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these duties.

Let not him who eats despise him who does not, and let not him who does not eat pass judgment on him who eats; for God has accepted him.

My brethren, show no favoritism as you hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ. For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and there also comes in a poor man in shabby clothes, and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the fine clothes and say, "Have a seat here in a good place," and you say to the poor man, "You stand there," or, "Sit by my feet,"

But you have dishonored the poor man. Is it not the rich who oppress you? Is it not they who drag you into court?
