And you will hear of wars [going on] and rumors of [other] wars [pending]. Do not worry, for such things must necessarily happen. But the end has not yet come. For nations will wage war against one another, and kingdoms will attack one another. And famines and earthquakes will occur at various places [in the world].
For many [false teachers] will come, claiming to be me, and saying, 'I am the Christ [i.e., God's specially chosen one]' and they will lead many people away [from the truth].

So, a rumor began circulating among the brothers that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not tell him he would not die, but [He said], "If I want him to remain [alive] until I return, what [business] is that of yours?"
[For] when people are saying, "Peace," and "Safety," then [is when] destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not be able to escape it.
And great earthquakes will happen, and at various places there will be famines and disease epidemics. And there will be fearful events and great [supernatural] signs from heaven.
Therefore, if people say to you, 'Look, he [i.e., Christ. See verse 23] is in the desert,' do not go out there. [Or if they say], 'Look, he is in an inside room,' do not believe him.
For nations will wage war against one another, and kingdoms will attack one another. And earthquakes will happen at various places [in the world], and there will be famines. These things are [only] the beginning of terrible times.
And the report of this [incident] about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the entire surrounding district.
saying, "We want you to say, 'Jesus' disciples came at night and stole his body while we were asleep.'
Where do conflicts and fights among you come from? Do they not come from your [desire for] pleasures which produces inner conflict?
Then Jesus returned to Galilee with power from the Holy Spirit; and a report about Him spread through all the surrounding region.
[though] we are slandered, we reply kindly. We have become [like] the scum of the earth, the dregs of all society, to this day.
They will refuse to listen to the truth and will turn their attention to myths.
that person is conceited. He does not understand anything, but has an unhealthy concern for controversy and arguments over words, which produce envy, dissension, abusive language, evil suspicions,
