“I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord:He said to Me, ‘You are My Son,Today I have begotten You.
But You, O Lord, are a shield about me,My glory, and the One who lifts my head.
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness;No evil dwells with You.
I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord;I have no good besides You.”
Yet You are holy,O You who are enthroned upon the praises of Israel.
Yet You are He who brought me forth from the womb;You made me trust when upon my mother’s breasts.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I fear no evil, for You are with me;Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me,For You are the God of my salvation;For You I wait all the day.
For You are my rock and my fortress;For Your name’s sake You will lead me and guide me.
You will pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me,For You are my strength.
But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord,I say, “You are my God.”
You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble;You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Since I am afflicted and needy,Let the Lord be mindful of me.You are my help and my deliverer;Do not delay, O my God.
By this I know that You are pleased with me,Because my enemy does not shout in triumph over me.
For You are the God of my strength; why have You rejected me?Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
You are my King, O God;Command victories for Jacob.
You are fairer than the sons of men;Grace is poured upon Your lips;Therefore God has blessed You forever.
Against You, You only, I have sinnedAnd done what is evil in Your sight,So that You are justified when You speakAnd blameless when You judge.
For You do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it;You are not pleased with burnt offering.
