'Fall' in the Bible
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the nations until the times of the nations be fulfilled.
Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall upon us; and to the hills, Cover us:
Then the soldiers cut away the ropes of the boat and let her fall.
I say then, Have they stumbled in order that they might fall? Far be the thought: but by their fall there is salvation to the nations to provoke them to jealousy.
But if their fall be the world's wealth, and their loss the wealth of the nations, how much rather their fulness?
So that let him that thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.
Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed,
not a novice, that he may not, being inflated, fall into the fault of the devil.
But it is necessary that he should have also a good testimony from those without, that he may fall not into reproach and the snare of the devil.
But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and many unwise and hurtful lusts, which plunge men into destruction and ruin.
Let us therefore use diligence to enter into that rest, that no one may fall after the same example of not hearkening to the word.
Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into various temptations,
But before all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath; but let your yea be yea, and your nay, nay, that ye do not fall under judgment.
Wherefore the rather, brethren, use diligence to make your calling and election sure, for doing these things ye will never fall;
Ye therefore, beloved, knowing these things before, take care lest, being led away along with the error of the wicked, ye should fall from your own stedfastness:
the twenty-four elders shall fall before him that sits upon the throne, and do homage to him that lives to the ages of ages; and shall cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
and they say to the mountains and to the rocks, Fall on us, and have us hidden from the face of him that sits upon the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb;
They shall not hunger any more, neither shall they thirst any more, nor shall the sun at all fall on them, nor any burning heat;
These have power to shut the heaven that no rain may fall during the days of their prophecy; and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to smite the earth as often as they will with every plague.
