'Heart' in the Bible

How long? Is there anything in the hearts of the prophets who prophesy falsehood, even these prophets of the deception of their own heart,

The fierce anger of the Lord will not turn backUntil He has performed and until He has accomplishedThe intent of His heart;In the latter days you will understand this.

“Is Ephraim My dear son?Is he a delightful child?Indeed, as often as I have spoken against him,I certainly still remember him;Therefore My heart yearns for him;I will surely have mercy on him,” declares the Lord.

“But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord, “I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me always, for their own good and for the good of their children after them.

I will rejoice over them to do them good and will faithfully plant them in this land with all My heart and with all My soul.

“Therefore My heart wails for Moab like flutes; My heart also wails like flutes for the men of Kir-heres. Therefore they have lost the abundance it produced.

“Kerioth has been capturedAnd the strongholds have been seized,So the hearts of the mighty men of Moab in that dayWill be like the heart of a woman in labor.

“As for the terror of you,The arrogance of your heart has deceived you,O you who live in the clefts of the rock,Who occupy the height of the hill.Though you make your nest as high as an eagle’s,I will bring you down from there,” declares the Lord.

Behold, He will mount up and swoop like an eagle and spread out His wings against Bozrah; and the hearts of the mighty men of Edom in that day will be like the heart of a woman in labor.

My eyes fail because of tears,My spirit is greatly troubled;My heart is poured out on the earthBecause of the destruction of the daughter of my people,When little ones and infants faintIn the streets of the city.

Their heart cried out to the Lord,“O wall of the daughter of Zion,Let your tears run down like a river day and night;Give yourself no relief,Let your eyes have no rest.

For anyone of the house of Israel or of the immigrants who stay in Israel who separates himself from Me, sets up his idols in his heart, puts right before his face the stumbling block of his iniquity, and then comes to the prophet to inquire of Me for himself, I the Lord will be brought to answer him in My own person.

“How languishing is your heart,” declares the Lord God, “while you do all these things, the actions of a bold-faced harlot.

because they rejected My ordinances, and as for My statutes, they did not walk in them; they even profaned My sabbaths, for their heart continually went after their idols.

As for you, son of man, groan with breaking heart and bitter grief, groan in their sight.

Therefore thus says the Lord God,‘Because you have made your heartLike the heart of God,

‘They will bring you down to the pit,And you will die the death of those who are slainIn the heart of the seas.

“Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty;You corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor.I cast you to the ground;I put you before kings,That they may see you.

‘Therefore thus says the Lord God, “Because it is high in stature and has set its top among the clouds, and its heart is haughty in its loftiness,

when you brought in foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in My sanctuary to profane it, even My house, when you offered My food, the fat and the blood; for they made My covenant void—this in addition to all your abominations.

‘Thus says the Lord God, “No foreigner uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, of all the foreigners who are among the sons of Israel, shall enter My sanctuary.

He was also driven away from mankind, and his heart was made like that of beasts, and his dwelling place was with the wild donkeys.
