So then you are no longer strangers and aliens. You are fellow citizens with the holy ones and of the household of God. You are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets. Christ Jesus is the chief corner stone.

The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Seeing great masses of people, he went up to the mountain. When he was seated his disciples came to him. He opened his mouth and taught them: Blessed (Greek: makarios: happy, blessed) are those conscious of their spiritual need, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs. read more.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek (gentle) (mild) (humble), for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful and compassionate, for they will receive mercy and compassion. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God. Blessed are they who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when men revile you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake. Rejoice, and be filled with joy, for great is your reward in heaven. The prophets, who came before you, were also persecuted. You are the salt of the earth. If its taste goes away, how will you restore it? It is good for nothing. All you can do is throw it on the ground and walk on it. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill may be seen by all. A light is not placed under a cover. To the contrary, it is placed on a table so all may see. Likewise, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

While Jesus was yet speaking to the crowds, his mother and his brothers stood nearby. They wanted to speak to him. Someone told Jesus: Look, your mother and your brothers stand nearby seeking to speak to you. But he answered: Who is my mother? Who are my brothers? read more.
He stretched out his hand towards his disciples, and said: Behold, my mother and my brothers! For everyone who does the will of my Father who is in heaven is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Jesus answered him: Bless you, Simon son of John. This knowledge came from my Father in heaven and not from man. You are Peter (Greek: petros: piece of rock), and on this rock-mass (Greek: petra: mass of rock) (referring to Jesus) I will build my congregation. The entrance to the grave (Greek: Hades) will not have power to stop it.

His mother and his brother were standing nearby. They sent for him. A crowd was sitting around him. They said to him: Look your mother and you brother are outside looking for you. He answered them: Who is my mother and who is my brother? read more.
Looking at the people who sat around him he said: Behold, my mother and my brother! For whoever does the will of God, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

For I think that God has placed us apostles last as men appointed to death. We are made a spectacle to the world, and to angels, and to men. We are fools for Christ. But you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are honorable, but we are despised. Even to this present hour we both hunger and thirst. We are naked. We are treated badly and we are homeless. read more.
We labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it; being slandered, we answer kindly. We are made as the filth of the world and are the refuse of all things to this day.

The hearers of the law are not righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be righteous. When those of the nations, who have no law, practice by nature the things of the law they are a law to themselves even though they do not have any law. They show the work of the law written in their hearts. Their conscience also bears witness, and their thoughts accuse or excuse them.

Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, who deceive themselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror. He sees himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what manner of man he was. read more.
But he who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and so continues, being not a hearer who forgets but a doer who works, this man will be blessed in what he does. If any man thinks he is religious, while he does not control his tongue but deceives his heart, this man's religion is vain (worthless) (useless). Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to care for the fatherless persons and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself without spot from the world.

All who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of bondage again causing fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Father, Father! (Chaldee: Abba, meaning father). The Spirit itself (Greek:autos ho pneuma) (itself the Spirit) bears witness with our spirit (mind and heart), that we are children of God. read more.
If children, then heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ. If indeed we suffer with him we may also be glorified with him.

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers: for what fellowship does righteousness have with lawlessness? Or what communion does light have with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? And what agreement does a temple of God have with idols? We are the temple of the living God. God said: I will dwell in them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they will be my people. (Leviticus 26:12) (Zechariah 8:8) read more.
Therefore come out from among them and be separate (set off) (severed from them) (excluded from them), said Jehovah. Do not touch the unclean thing and I will receive you. (Isaiah 52:11) (Jeremiah 51:45) I will be a Father to you, and you will be to me sons and daughters, said Jehovah God the Almighty. (Hosea 1:10)

Looking at the people who sat around him he said: Behold, my mother and my brother! For whoever does the will of God, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

His mother and brother tried to come to him but could not because of the crowd. They told him: Your mother and your brothers are near. They wish to see you. He answered, My mother and my brother are these who hear the word of God, and do it.

We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels and crowned with glory and honor for suffering death. By the grace of God he tasted death for every man. It was appropriate that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, should bring many sons to glory, to make the Chief Agent of their salvation perfect through suffering. Both he who sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all from one. For this reason Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.

He said: When you pray say, 'Father holy (sacred) (sanctified) (blessed) (consecrated) is your name. Let your kingdom come.

I will return again to you if it is God's will, Paul said. Then he set sail from Ephesus.

I will not see you now by the way; but I plan to stay a while with you, if the God permits.

I do not do my own will. I came down from heaven to do the will of him that sent me. This is the will of him that sent me that I should not lose any of those he has given me, but I should raise them up at the last day. For this is the will of my Father. Every one who sees the Son and puts active faith in him will have everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

But I will come to you shortly, if God wills, and I will get to know what the proud ones do and not what they say, but their power.

Jesus replied: My teaching is not my own. It is his who sent me. If any man does his will he shall know the teachings. He will know if it is from God, or whether I speak from myself.
