He (Jesus) gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us out of this present evil age. This is according to the will of our God and Father.

We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the (power of the) (under control of the) evil one.

The god of this age (world) (religious, social, political, and economic arrangement) has blinded the minds of unbelievers that the light of the good news of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine on them.

You once walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the power (authority and jurisdiction) of the air, the spirit that is now active in the sons of disobedience.

Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places.

He offered us his precious and exceedingly great promises. Through these you may become partakers of the divine nature. You will escape from the corruption that is in the lust-filled world.

The entire world, the desire of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of material wealth, is not from the Father, but is from the world. The world and its desires (lusts) are passing away; but he who does the will of God lives forever.

Observe the love the Father gave to us that we should be called the children of God. That is what we are! For this reason the world does not know us. This is because it did not know him.

All things are from God who reconciled us to himself through Christ. He gave the ministry of reconciliation to us. God was reconciling the world to himself through Christ. He was not imputing their trespasses against them, for he had committed the word of reconciliation to us. We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making entreaty through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ that you be reconciled to God.

Adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity (hatred) (hostility) toward God? Whoever would be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If any one loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

I gave them your word. The world hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I do not pray that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world even as I am not of the world.

He gave a thorough witness with many words and exhorted them, saying: Save yourselves from this indecent generation.

Do not be conformed to this world (religious, social, political, and economic arrangement). But be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Prove what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.

Those who use this world should not abuse it, for the fashion of this world is passing away.

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers: for what fellowship does righteousness have with lawlessness? Or what communion does light have with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? And what agreement does a temple of God have with idols? We are the temple of the living God. Therefore come out from among them and be separate (set off) (severed from them) (excluded from them), said Jehovah. Do not touch the unclean thing and I will receive you. (Isaiah 52:11) (Jeremiah 51:45)

Get out of her my people! Touch no unclean thing! Come out from it and be pure, you who carry the vessels of Jehovah.

That way you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. You are seen as lights in the world.

Think about the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth.

instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present age (world) (period of time).

Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to care for the fatherless persons and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself without spot from the world.

Live as children of obedience. Do not fashion yourself according to your former lusts, for you were ignorant at that time.

Beloved, I request that you as aliens and strangers abstain from fleshly lust (desires), which causes conflict in you.

You have spent enough time in the past doing what unbelievers like to do. Your lives were spent in indecency, lusts, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and the disgusting worship of idols (false gods).

Command those who are rich in this present system not to be high-minded (arrogant), not to have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

Do not accumulate large amounts of wealth on earth. This is where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal.

Jesus said to his disciples: Truly I tell you, it is hard for a man with much money to go into the kingdom of heaven.

Seeing him Jesus said: It is very difficult for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

He spoke an illustration to them: The land of a rich man produced well. He reasoned to himself, what will I do? I have nowhere to store my fruits? He said: I would pull down my barns and build larger barns. I will store all my grain and goods there.read more.
I will say to my self: 'You have many possessions saved for many years. Take it easy and eat, drink and be merry.' But God said to him: 'You fool this night you will give up your life. Then who will have all these things you accumulated?' He who lays up (earthly) treasure for himself is not rich toward God.

For what does it profit a man if he gain the whole world, and lose or forfeit his own self?

What will a man profit, if he gains the whole world, and gives up his life? What will a man give in exchange for his life?

What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?

He that was sown among thorns hears the word. The cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

For Demas forsook me, having loved this present world, and went to Thessalonica. Crescens went to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.

But when we are judged, Jehovah disciplines us, that we should not be destroyed (condemned) with the world. (Proverbs 3:11)

Now judgment is on this world. Now the ruler of this world will be cast out.

And third, of judgment because the prince of this world has been judged.

Let no one deceive you with empty words. It is because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Be awake so your hearts are not weighed down. Do not allow the weight of worldly involvement, drunkenness, and cares of this life be a snare when that day suddenly comes.

It will be like those days before the Flood. They were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark. They were not aware until the Flood came and took them all away. The coming (presence) of the Son of man will be like this.

You be ready! The Son of man will come at a time when you do not think he will.

You have no need that I write to you about the times and dates, brothers. For you know perfectly that the Day of Jehovah will come like a thief in the night. (Zephaniah 1:14) When they say, Peace and security! then sudden destruction will come upon them, as labor pains come to a pregnant woman. They will not escape.read more.
You do not live in the dark. That day should not overtake you by surprise as a thief would. You are all the children (sons) of light, and the children of the day. We are not of the night, not of darkness. Therefore, let us not sleep like others do. But let us watch and be sober. They that sleep do so in the night. They that get drunk are drunk in the night. Let us be sober and put on the breastplate of faith and love; and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God has not appointed us to experience his wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.
