Two days later Abraham saw the place in the distance. He said to the servants: Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I will go over there and worship. Then we will come back to you. Abraham made Isaac carry the wood for the sacrifice. Abraham carried a knife and live coals for starting the fire. As they walked along together, Isaac spoke up: Father! He answered: Yes, my son? Your descendants will take possession of their enemies' cities. All the nations will ask me to bless them as I have blessed your descendants. This is because you obeyed my command.' Trust in Jehovah with all your heart. Do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge (recognize) Him and He will make your paths straight.

While they watched, Jesus' appearance changed (transformed) (transfigured) in their presence. His face was as bright as the sun and his clothes became as white as the light. Moses and Elijah appeared, and they were talking to him.

Moses came down from Mount Sinai. The two tablets of the testimony were in Moses' hand as he came down from the mountain. Moses did not know that the skin of his face glowed because he spoke with God. Aaron and all the Israelites looked at Moses and saw his face glowing. They were afraid to come near him. All the other Israelites came near him. He commanded them to do everything Jehovah told him on Mount Sinai. Moses put a veil over his face when he finished speaking. When Moses went into Jehovah's presence to speak with him, he took off the veil until he came out. When he came out and told the Israelites what he had been commanded, they would see that Moses' face was glowing. Moses would put the veil back on until he went in again to speak with Jehovah.
