but was yea in Him, (for all the promises of God are in Him yea, and in Him amen,) to the glory of God by us:
And so I tell you, Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you.
If ye ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask what ye will, and it shall be granted you.
and whatsoever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep his commandments, and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
I have seen the oppression of my people that are in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. Therefore come now, and I will send thee into Egypt."
And when thou prayest, be not like the hypocrites; for they love to pray in public assemblies, and in the corners of the streets, that they may be taken notice of by men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret, will reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathens do, for they think they shall be heard for their speaking much:read more.
be not ye therefore like them; for your Father knoweth what ye have need of before ye ask Him. After this manner therefore pray ye,
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for every one, that asketh, receiveth; and he, that seeketh, findeth; and to him, that knocketh, it shall be opened. Is there any man among you, who, if his son ask him for bread, will give him a stone?read more.
or if he ask for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to them that ask Him?
And I tell you moreover, that if but two of you shall agree on earth concerning any thing which they would ask for, it shall be granted them by my Father who is in heaven:
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye ask in prayer, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
If ye then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the holy Spirit to them that ask Him?
And the Lord said, hear what even the unjust judge saith: and will not God do justice for his elect that cry to Him day and night, though He bear long with them. I tell you, He will avenge them speedily. And yet when the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith in the land?
Watch therefore and be constant in prayer, that ye may be counted worthy to escape all these things, which shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith unto thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldst have asked of Him, and He would have given thee living water.
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a servant of God, and do his will, him He heareth.
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, I will do it: that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing: but I assure you, that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, He will give it you.
And now why shouldst thou delay? Arise and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling upon the name of the Lord.
And the Spirit likewise helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for, as we ought: but the Spirit itself intercedes for us with unutterable groans.
For there is no difference of Jew and Greek: for He being Lord of all is bountiful to all that call upon Him.
For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
Now to Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think, according to the power operating in us,
Let us therefore come with freedom to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace for our seasonable help.
let us draw near with sincerity, in the full assurance of faith, having our hearts cleansed from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
whereas without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that cometh to God must believe, that He is, and is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
And if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask it of God, who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting; for he that doubteth is like a wave of the sea blown about and tossed by the wind. Let not that man think that he shall receive any thing from the Lord.
Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you: cleanse your hands, O sinners, and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed: the fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
And this is the confidence, which we have towards Him, that if we ask any thing according to his will, He heareth us: and if we know that He heareth us in whatsoever we ask; we know that we shall have the petitions, which we have requested of Him.
