And if Christ be in you, the body indeed is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead, dwelleth in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead, will also restore your mortal bodies to life, by his Spirit that now dwelleth in you.

However, I have written to you, brethren, somewhat the more freely, in reminding you of your duty; because of the favor bestowed upon me by God, that I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, administring the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the holy Spirit.

so also is the mystical body of Christ; for by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body, (whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free) and are all made to drink into one Spirit:

but He that establisheth us as well as you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; who hath also sealed us, and given us the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

This charge I commit to thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which before came on thee, that by them thou mightest war a good warfare, having faith and a good conscience, which some putting away have made shipwreck concerning the faith:

I wonder that ye are so soon removed from him who called you by the grace of Christ to another gospel: which is not another; but there be some that disturb you, and would subvert the gospel of Christ.

Ye did run well: who hindered you from obeying the truth? This persuasion came not from him that called you: but a little leaven leaveneth the whole mass. I have confidence in you however through the Lord,

These are wells without water, clouds driven by a storm, for whom thick darkness is reserved for ever. For when they speak swelling words of vanity, they ensnare in the lusts of the flesh, through their lasciviousness, those who had indeed withdrawn from such as deal in error;

(for He is faithful who hath promised) and let us observe each other to the incitement of love and good works: not forsaking our assemblies, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more as ye see the day approaching.

What is the advantage, my brethren, if any one say that he has faith, and he hath not works, can faith alone save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food; and one of you say to them, Go in peace, be ye warmed and be ye filled: but ye give them not the necessaries of life, what profit is it to them?read more.
so faith, if it have not works, being alone, is dead. But one may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith by thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. For unto this are ye called; because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye might follow his steps.

For I have given you an example, that ye also should do as I have done to you.

And we know that all things co-operate for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to his purpose; for those whom he foreknew, He also predetermined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that He might be as the first-born among many brethren: and whom He before ordained, these He also called; and whom He called, these he also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Be ye then imitators of me, as I also am of Christ.

But we all with unveiled face beholding, as in a glass, the glory of the Lord, are transformed according to the same image from glory to glory, as proceeding from the Spirit of the Lord.

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ, have put on Christ:

Beloved, we are now the children of God, but it doth not yet appear what we shall be: we know however, that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. And every one, that hath this hope in Him, purifieth himself, even as He is pure.

Be ye therefore perfect in love and goodness, as your Father who is in heaven is perfect.

Be ye therefore imitators of God as his dear children; and walk in love, even as Christ hath loved us, and given Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of sweet perfume.

And you that were formerly alienated, and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled in the body of his flesh, through death, to present you holy, and unblameable, and unreproveable in his sight:

Finally, my brethren, farewel: be reformed, be exhorted, be of one mind, live in peace: and the God of love and peace will be with you.

whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Wherefore, beloved, seeing ye expect these things, give diligence to be found of Him in peace, spotless and blameless;

according as he hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and unblameable before Him in love:
