Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ hath received us, to the glory of God.

But I went up according to a divine revelation, and laid before them the gospel which I preach among the gentiles: though privately to those of note, least I should run, or had run in vain.

If therefore there be any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any participation of the Spirit, if any bowels of compassion, compleat ye my joy, be like-minded, maintaining the same love, with your souls united, in attending to the one thing needful. Do nothing through strife or vain-glory, but in lowliness of mind each esteeming others better than themselves.read more.
Look not every one to his own interests only, but every one also to the concerns of others.

And by this we know that we have known Him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whosoever keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: and by this we know that we are in Him.read more.
He that saith, he abideth in Him, ought himself also so to walk even as He walked.

In this we know his love, that He laid down his life for us: and we should be ready to lay down our lives for the brethren. But if any one, who hath the good things of the world, seeth his brother in want, and shutteth up his bowels from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, and well-pleasing to God, as your rational service.

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached to you at first, which ye received, and wherein ye stand. By which also ye are saved, if ye retain it as I preached it to you: unless indeed ye have believed in vain.

In whom ye also trusted, when ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also when ye believed, ye were sealed with the holy Spirit of promise,

which is come unto you, even as in all the world, and is fruitful; as it hath been also among you, from the day in which ye heard and knew the grace of God in truth.

For this also we thank God continually, that when ye received the word of God, which ye heard from us, ye received it not as the word of men, but (as it is in truth) the word of God, which also worketh effectually in you that believe.

so that they are inexcusable; because having thus known God they glorified Him not as God, neither were they thankful; but were infatuated by their own reasonings, and their heart being void of understanding was darkened. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for every one, that asketh, receiveth; and he, that seeketh, findeth; and to him, that knocketh, it shall be opened. For every one that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son ask bread of any father among you, will he give him a stone? and if he ask for a fish, will he instead of a fish give him a serpent? or if he ask for an egg,read more.
will he give him a scorpion? If ye then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the holy Spirit to them that ask Him?

And He said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go to him at midnight, and say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine on his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him: and he from within shall answer and say, Do not be troublesome; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed, I cannot rise to give thee.read more.
I tell you, tho' he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend: yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he wants.

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, I will do it: that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask what ye will, and it shall be granted you.

and if any one shall force thee one mile, go with him two. Give to him that asketh thee, and him, that would borrow of thee, turn not away.

to him that smiteth thee on the one cheek, offer also the other; and let him that taketh away thy cloke, have thy coat too rather than strive with him: give to him that asketh thee, and from him that taketh thy goods on loan demand nothing.

Avenge not yourselves, my beloved; but rather give place to the wrath of others: for it is written, "Vengeance belongeth to me, I will recompence, saith the Lord." Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing, thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor did any dare, from that day, to ask Him any more such questions.
