Hereby are we assured of love: because he left his life for us: And therefore we ought also to give our lives for our brethren.

Jesus then said to his disciples. "If any man will follow me, let him forsake himself, and take up his cross and follow me.

And he called the people unto him, with his disciples also, and said unto them, "Whosoever will follow me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

And he said to them all, "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross on him daily, and follow me.

For even the son of man came, not to be ministered unto: but to minister, and to give his life for the redemption of many."

Greater love than this hath no man, than that a man bestow his life for his friends.

For Christ pleased not himself: but as it is written, "The rebukes of them which rebuked thee, fell on me."

which gave himself for our sins, to deliver us from this present evil world, through the will of God our father,

Be ye followers of God as dear children, and walk in love even as Christ loved us, and gave himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice of a sweet savour to God.

"Dost thou so reward the LORD? O foolish nation and unwise. Is not he thy father and thine owner? Hath he not made thee and ordained thee?

For who preferreth thee? What hast thou, that thou hast not received? If thou have received it: why boastest thou as though thou hadst not received it?

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not exceeding wise, and that they trust not in the uncertain riches, but in the living God, which giveth us abundantly all things to enjoy them,

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercifulness of God, that ye make your bodies a living sacrifice: holy and acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable serving of God.

And this they did, not as we looked for; but gave their own selves first to the Lord, and after unto us by the will of God:

Brethren, ye know the house of Stephanas, how that they are the first fruits of Achaia, and that they have appointed themselves to minister unto the saints:

but we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministration of the word."

For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit, in the Gospel of his son that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers,

These things exercise, and give thyself unto them, that it may be seen how thou profitest in all things.

So likewise, none of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, can be my disciple.

"If a man come to me, and hate not his father and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, moreover and his own life, he cannot be my disciple.

Let every man please his neighbor unto his wealth and edifying.

Wherefore if meat hurt my brother, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, because I will not hurt my brother.

Even as I please all men in all things not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they might be saved.

I will very gladly bestow, and will be bestowed for your souls: though the more I love you, the less I am loved again.

Yea I think all things but loss for that excellent knowledge's sake of Christ Jesus my Lord. For whom I have counted all thing loss, and do judge them but dung, that I might win Christ,

Then spake Nebuchadnezzar, and said, "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: which hath sent his angel, and defended his servants that put their trust in him: that have altered the king's commandment, and jeopardized their bodies thereupon, rather than they would serve or worship any other god except their own God only.

But none of those things move me. Neither is my life dear unto myself; that I might fulfill my course with joy, and the ministration which I have received of the Lord Jesus to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Then Paul answered, and said, "What do ye weeping, and breaking mine heart? I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus."

And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death.

He that findeth his life, shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake, shall find it.

Then answered Peter, and said to him, "Behold we have forsaken all, and have followed thee: what shall we have therefore?" Jesus said unto them, "Verily I say to you, When the son of man shall sit in the seat of his majesty, ye which follow me in the second generation shall sit also upon twelve seats, and judge the twelve tribes of Israel. And whosoever forsaketh houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake; the same shall receive a hundred fold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

And Peter began to say unto him, "Lo, we have forsaken all, and have followed thee." Jesus answered and said, "Verily I say unto you, there is no man that hath forsaketh house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, other children, or lands, for my sake and the gospel's, which shall not receive a hundred fold now in this life, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers and children, and lands with persecutions, and in the world to come eternal life.

Then Peter said, "Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee." And he said unto them, "Verily I say unto you, there is no man that leaveth house: other father and mother, other brethren, or wife, or children: for the kingdom of God's sake, which same shall not receive much more in this world, and in the world to come: life everlasting."

For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it. But whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

Whosoever will go about to save his life, shall lose it: And whosoever shall lose his life, shall save it.

Whoso offereth me thanks and praise, he honoureth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation right, will I show the salvation of God."

"Thank the LORD, call on his name, make his acts known among the people!

neither filthiness, neither foolish talking, neither jestings, which are not comely: but rather giving of thanks.

Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice. Let your softness be known unto all men. The Lord is even at hand. Be not careful: but in all things show your petition unto God in prayer and supplication with giving of thanks.read more.
And the peace of God which passeth all understanding keep your hearts, and minds in Christ Jesus.

and steadfast in the faith, as ye have learned: and therein be plenteous in giving thanks.

and the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which peace ye are called in one body: and see that ye be thankful.

Wherefore if we receive a kingdom which is not moved, we have grace, whereby we may serve God and please him with reverence and godly fear.
